hey guys , i'm kind of torn in between the the two bikes right now . went to the dealership today and looked at the 848 and 749 . price wise the 749 is about 4-5k cheaper . but the 848 is lighter and has more power and the price tag is a hefty 13500 out the door brand new . i could get the 2006 749 with 4000 miles carbon exhaust frame sliders , open clutch covers and some other stuff for 8500 out the door . i still don't know which one to get , i've ridden bikes before but never rode a supersports i'm very responsible with my driving so it would be the same with the bike , let's hear some opinions .
Another vote for the 848. Besides the increased performance, the single-sided swingarm just does it for me.
yeah i love the single swingarm too . make the whole back end looks so sexy .
they have an 08 with no miles on it for 13500 otd or an 09 demo with 900miles for 13500 as well . but 09 comes with a 2 year warranty and 08 with just 1 year warranty.

I did the Ducati Hypermotard demo ride at Las Vegas Motor Speedway earlier this year. Our local Duc dealer had some of their own bikes out there to demo on the track. Personally, I'd buy an unmolested, year-old 848 before buying a demo ride. Those demo bikes typically get flogged right out of the box.

White. The red is pretty much the "standard" for Ducs. I myself have a flat black Monster 696. I could've gotten the red one, but I wanted to steer a bit away from the standard color.
I was at the dealership the other day, saw a bunch of white 848s, it was beautiful..
