I can't, for the life of me, figure out why Suzuki choose to use the projector as the high beam instead of the low. Does anyone know if they changed it in the 08 so the low beam will be used through thr projector? It seems counter productive to use a more expensive production part as a secondary light that most people rarely use for it's purpose. I've seen retro fit projectors for the low beam which looks good but it's still confusing.

You ever noticed that when you initially turn on your bike the lights come on, then you turn the ignition on and it cuts off then cuts back on? Well that would kill a HID light in no time at all it. They only way to get around this is to have a "light on/off" switch to prevent that quick on/off sequence before the light properly heats up. Which on bikes is a no no by DOT standards. Hence the projector being on the high beam only and it's still not HID.
What you could do is buy it, get a projector and make a retrofit bi-xenon headlight. It'd make for a good weekend project IMO

I always thought it was confusing but that makes sense. What about the last gen R6's, D675's, and 848/1098/1198 that all have projectors? I don't have a gsxr I'm ditching the F4i for a 600rr shortly and was just wondering. It always bugged me about the last few gen gsxr's.
EDIT: Nevermind I found out they use the projector as the low beam in the 08+...

i have a retrofit on my 07 600rr i always let it run though its start-up(needle swing and speedo countdown) before i crank the motor, 2 years and 12k miles later it still works like a charm
Well I think the non projectors works well during the day. Which lets the light scatter so people or cagers could see you. I usually ride with the normal lights on during the day on my cbr (HID). As for making the high beams projectors I think it's better this way since projectors can focus the light in one place and wont let other drivers be blinded... Wish the cbr came with projectors lol. I get people complaining how bright my highbeams are since they're on HIDs. I usually just turn mine on when i'm in the fwy traffic. But then again I want people to see me lol
