Well I broke down and bought my daughter a bike Friday afternoon. I have been looking for a few weeks, but couldn't decide which one would be the best for her, the Aprilia RS 125 or the 250 Ninja. As much as I love the Aprilia I went with the 250 it just seems to have more avalible parts. She will be 14 in about 6 weeks so by the time she gets license and takes the safety class it will be time to get some riding in.
Thanks guys, I started on a 87 ninja 250 in 90.. hehehe I moved up to a 89 about a year later. It was a new body style that had a lower and looked like a 600R. They are good little bikes.
The guy I bought it from never got it over 65 he couldn't ride. He had it a year and a half and it has 2100 miles. I paid 1800 for my 87 back in 1990 I got this one for a few hundred more I didn't think it was to bad of a deal. My plan is for us to do track days together. She started riding 50's when she was 6. I told her if she get faster than me on the track I was going to take it away from her. lol..
14 and a bike? wtf... isn't the driving age 16 in this country? unless it's a track bike, in which case rock on.
No it is 14 in Alabama to ride a motorcycle. But it is going to be 90% track and 10% street. She can only ride on the street if me or one of my trusted friends are with her.
started at 6? thats great.. i want to do the same for my son too.. i would rather him have 10 years of riding under his belt at 18.. than run into some kids who think they are cool and start riding supersports and end up dead

Sounds awesome, hopefully you guys will have many great years doing the hobby you both like. I'd love to buy my dad a motorcycle to get him into anything other then wood working, but he'd never ride it.
