I am thinking I am going to purchase one through the AAFES exchange new car sales program while I am deployed to Africa.

I thought you were a big dude. 883 is kinda small frame bike, but I think it looks wicked in both color combos. I almost bought the cross bones when I got back in country. I really like the springer front.

I am 6'2 between 200-260 (depending on what I am doing at the time). I am going to stop by the dealer today to check them out. I have to order once I get overseas so I can get the huge discount, so I have time to look around at different models.

i cant seem to find it right now. maybe they cancelled it, or maybe im just nuts. but yes, the bob and the sportster look close, just as i said. thats why i reccomended it. its the style you are goign for obviously. but its built more for your frame, and not a 5'0", 100lb woman.
but something that owns either of them, is the night rod. yum yum.
Im going to go to the harley dealer today and look around. I have a few months to make up my mind on what one I want.

thats probably your best bet. i went in to buy a v-rod. and left with a rocker. the pics, dont do a lot of the bikes justice. you really need to see them in person to make an informed decision.

I have not even bothered to look at dealer pricing as I will get mine for 30% or so less than they sell them.

I just picked up a 09 nightster 1200cc... I love the bike to death... There are a couple of key mods to do a.s.a.p.
Forward controls. $500 parts/install
New pipe/air cleaner/tune. almost 2k parts/install

most dealers will cut a deal with you, to get the stage 1 done, with the purchase of the bike. seemed like a fair deal, so long as you like vance and hines pipes.
I actually have the Iron 883. I love it, but im a little guy, 150lbs on a fat day, lol. Mines got all the Dark Custom derby covers, Screamin Eagle Stage 1 (SE exhaust, intake, and tune). Its a nice bike and it gets compliments all the time which is cool. Ride one, and if your bigger at all, i think youll have to upgrade the rear shocks quick...they bottom out all the time and is the #1 complaint of these bikes. Im just ganna get the Biltwell rear shocks and hardtail it...I say go for it.
Couple of crappy pics of mine....Its raining out now..
