On Sunday, September 14th Beaver Springs Dragway had their Fall Import Shootout. I wasn't going to go because the weather didn't look too promising, but it is good that I went because I managed to drive my 350Z to a first place win.
Due to the weather the race was not split up by E.T. and we were only running 1/8th mile. The field wasn't very big, it only ran 5 rounds, but it was still a good time. An RX8, a Mitsu EVO 8 and an STI were also in attendance but I did not see them run. I ran a 9.45 in the 1/8th so I dialed a 9.50 to give myself some breathing room. Even though I was fighting pretty bad wheel hop from the slightly wet track the Z was running dead on consistent. My final two rounds I ran a 9.507 and a 9.500 on a 9.50 dial which I thought was pretty incredible since I had only raced 3 times this year. Overall it was a good day even though the weather wasn't the best. Hopefully next year there will be more 350Z's representing!
