i have a stock 350z.... enthusiast.... 03.... and i took it to the track yesterday for a run.... it was pretty lame b/c i waited in line for over an hour just to get in one run.... it was some event....
well its my turn to race... and i pull pass the starting line ... i didn't see it b/c it was dark and my eyes are bad... and there were a lot of people.... how embarrassing... so i get back on track and the light is already going down... i was like holy... and when it hit green i wasn't ready... and just went from a dead start no launching....(i dunno how to launch n e way in this car yet) ... then my start kinda bogged b/c my tcs was on so i turned it off b4 i hit 2nd....
i did 14.2 which i thought was pretty good for a stock z... and was wondering if there were n e possibles ways to get the car in the 13.9 area without mods... i mean if i turn off tcs i know that will help a lot... what about tire pressure and how do you guys recommend me launching?>
14.2 secs isn't bad. I remember years ago when I went to the track with friend who drove a mod 3000GT VR-4 made about the same time (in the 14 secs.) Which trim are you driving?
i'm driving an enthusiast.... i remember my reaction time being suck like 1.023 or somethin... that didn't matter tho b/c the timer didn't start till i pass the starting line.... so no one has suggestions?
I checked on Car&Driver's test a while ago and I think their test on 1/4 mile with Track model (stock) was around 14 seconds. That's probably the limit to the car without mods. I'm also curious on the 0-60 acceleration. C&D tested it like 5.9secs with Track model. If that's true, it'd be pretty sad. Have anyone if you tested the 0-60 other than 1/4 mile?
theres a calculator for 0-60 posted here somewhere. You put in your 1/4 mile time, speed, 60' time, etc & it gives you a 0-60 estimate. Pretty damn cool.
Anyways, all my 1/4 mile times were first run of 14.2 & 14.1 consistently for like 6 runs (2 different days)
0-60 estimate = consistent 5.4 with a best of 5.3 seconds.
& 14.2 with TCS on????? You have a 13 second car for sure! Good luck next time
yea my start was a lil weak b/c of the tcs... and i was able to turn it off quickly... so i really think i can hit 13's... but unfortunatly... i can't go to the track for a bit... i have bills to pay... work and school to juggle... sooo.... GRRRRRRr here are my stats
Don't complain Shift. At least you own one of this sweet babe. I hope I can get one very very soon. SilverStone w/ Orange interior Touring Z + Nav Sys. is my dream. I wish I can at least ride on one to get the feeling. The last super car I ride was an NSX and that was years ago. I really miss that feeling.

A good run for a bone stock Z seems to be 13.7-13.8 @ 102-103
A few NA modified ones on this forum are good for low 13's.

your reaction time has nothing to do with your overall time.. your 60ft time on the other hand does have an effect on your over all time jay
how do you shift your car, power shift or regular fast shifting? that will make a difference.. my father had a 99 z28, he would powershift it and run 12.20's on et streets, i would just shift it fast(letting off the gas between gears) and i would always run 2 tenths slower than him... it was his car, so if he wanted to beat on it thats his right..lol, jay
What do you guys mean by the term powershifting? a.) you don't let go off the gas all the way, so you are revving at about 4K rpms before you put in the next gear. OR b.) you don't press in the clutch to shift, you just "ram" the stick into each successive gear after 1st?
