Default VQ30DE HEAD SWAP INFO

I'm looking for information on doing a VQ30DE head swap. Has anyone here done this? What useful info can you give me on this? I hear that i can go from a 10.3 to a 12.0 compression ratio with stock pistons with this swap. However there is not much info behind this. I would have the VQ30 heads reworked a little bit to get a little more flow throught them. but...

Can i use my current (stock) cams?

Will the stock intake manifold bolt up fine?

Any other info would be very helpful.

Thanks all,

I'm not sure the point of that or if you would actually get that much compression gain. What is the CFM difference?

The intake ports are shaped different, so you would have to port and polish the intake ports quite a bit.
They don't have anything dealing with VTC, nor holes for the cams sensors in the rear of the head.

The valves are also slightly smaller, although you can use the VK45DE titanium valves with some modifications. You might want to look on the maxima forum if you are really that interested, and people have had a lot more hybrid engines there.

The Nismo heads use the same combustion chamber and are more easily bolted on the VQ35, but are also much more expensive.

Really you are much better off just putting some high compression pistons than trying to modify heads.
