Default Meth Injection

This is just an idea but if it worked it would be cool and gain some power. So here goes; how bout taking a meth injection kit for a FI car and instead of spraying it into the intake pipe rig it up like a wet nitrous kit. Y the tank full of Methanol (not a mix because that would destroy the engine) into the main fuel line with a fuel pump and a switch for the pump on the dash. Then get a utec, a piggy back ecu, or an osiris. Anything with a way to switch maps and a way to change timing. To maximize the usefulness the ecu map would need to really advance the timing but with the high octane of meth the motor should be able to handle it. Then when you get to the Drag strip/track or want to have fun on the street just switch maps and hit the meth. This shouldn't corrode or destroy fittings, lines or injectors because of all the gasoline being mixed in.

The advantages would be methanol is a cheap high octane fuel. But this is just an idea and would probably not be worth the power to cost ratio.

!Thoughts!

Not worth the effort on an NA set-up. If you are going to go through all that you might as well upgrade the fuel system and run e85. It only makes sense if you want to run truly wild timing or 12:1 compression and up.

Ya i was just venting and i was just giving out ideas. Plus our race cars run 410 cu in aluminum chevy engines with 15.5 to 1 compression and make about 890 crank horse. Methanol is an amazing fuel.

I think you'd loose the general cooling effect on the intake charge by doing it your way. By spraying in the intake, you do get some benefits of that. Just something to consider.
