So today I changed the oil out and noticed it smelled like gas. This got me thinking a bit so I started researching. I ran across some people who have deleted the PCV valve with a vented breather put in place of the passenger side PCV. I know most people will say my piston seals are the reason for the blow-by and I'm sure it is. I'm just wondering if people have tried the PCVdelete and it helped the burning of oil/getting into the combustion process. I don't have the funds to open the engine to fix the root problem but just wanting to see if venting the crack case could help with the problem a little. Looking for some positives and negatives on this. I researched a lot and couldn't find an answer that backs it up.

No. The PCV is merely an emissions control device that aids in moving gasses, moisture, and other by-product from the combustion chamber back into the intake for returning. It does not eliminate the root cause of the blow-by (the piston rings)

Can't see what state you're in since I'm on my phone, but venting to the atmosphere can also cause you to fail emissions testing if your state has it.

The Z has a higher rate of blow-by, but it is so minimal it's not worth bothering with.

the PVC is already vented. actually it is suctioned. which is better than a vent.

Venting to atmosphere will stop your engine from "consuming" the oil during the combustion process, so yes, however it will do nothing to stop the oil from being lost, i.e. if you are losing a quart every 3000 miles you are still going to lose a quart every 3000 miles.
