Default First few days with my 370Z - Pics and video

WARNING: DO NOT TEST DRIVE A 370Z IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO END UP BUYING ONE

About me:
I am a long time Z fan and remain the proud owner of a 2003 Silverstone Track model. I took delivery on my new 370Z three days ago. I wasn't going to post anything here about the 370Z until I got this bug, this thing or whatever the heck you want to call it out of my system. However , it doesn't look like that is going to happen anytime soon. As I write this, the car is calling me….. I am 45 years old, responsible, and have managed to remain ticketless with my 350. it's only a matter of time before get arrested with 370Z……read on……

My Opinions:
It is my firm belief that this is the car that the 350 always wanted to be. Forget the styling for a minute as my first impression was that I “didn't like this” or I thought they “should have done that with the...”... <--I DON’T CARE anymore about what it looks like. Face it, to the untrained eye, the 370Z looks like the same car on the outside. I thought Nissan was blowing smoke when they pitched the car as a total redesign. One test drive was all it took. I instantly knew I wanted one, needed one. I cannot believe I was lucky enough to grab one before the word got out about how totally fine this ride is. This CAR ROCKS in so many ways. I was looking for a daily driver with some fun, so I test drove some luxury sport sedans and coups like the G37 and a Lexus ISF and IS350. None of these cars did it for me. I will be honest, I have read nearly nothing about the 370Z after seeing the pics. I basically took a look and then just smiled knowing that my 2003 would not look dated any time soon.
My 370 is an automatic Touring with Sport Package and all the toys. It was the paddle shifters that did it for me. The sounds and fun you can produce with this machine actually compell me to pray to God each day and thank him for allowing me to own such a perfectly beautiful machine. I have not gotten this smitten with a car since I was 16 and bought my first car (1968 Firebird). Here are some pics I took over the weekend…and yes, my neighbors think I am nuts for buying a second two-seater.

Adding Video Link: Yes, it's a bit dorky....posted it mainly for people who know my mother. Most of the engine sound you hear is my 350 until the very last part......some of you might enjoy it. I know I did. Gives me some ideas........

The exhaust note is completely different.

Interior is nicely upgraded.

The keyless start is cool.

why bring god in to it? how is he allowing you to own the car? is it not your own work ethic and your own financial situation that is allowing you to have the car?

give credit where its due, you've worked hard and bought your self a nice ride. congratulations.

let him thank whoever he wants to...

if he feels a greater being has influenced the decisions he has made in his life, and has thus affected his life in different positive ways, it's none of your business to question it. comments like this are unnecessary and are just going to cause the thread to direct in a negative direction. the piece in bold is all you needed to say.

I'll edit out the portion of my response you disagree with if you clean up your quote as well. if not, for the time being, I'll leave it up so the OP can answer me in a PM if he would like to (or not)

honest question, not trying to incite any sort of negative response.

Enjoy the car! As long as you keep it under 75mph on I4/275/75 (85mph on 75) you'll be fine.

It is very different as another member wrote already. I would say that it sounds more like a lower rumble, almost like what you'd hear from an 8 cyl muscle car..but more refined. The sound<---Scratch that!........The music the engine makes when you get to about 3k RPM in manual mode is just something you have to witness. I have never driven an Italian high-end race car but this engine reminds me of something loud but smooth as silk. Like I said in my post, it's something I believe the 350 wanted to be but couldn't with that version of the VQ. The car does not turn heads like the 350 did when I was one of the first guys to have one in Tampa. However, do a little fancy foot work<---scratch that.....sorry.....do a little fancy hand-work with the paddles in the auto and everybody turns their head and I think I am in Z heaven. Oh no...another religious reference....Yikes!
