How do like the 370Z and the SS compare to the HR you have right now?

I have always wonder how many HR members on this forum? And the ratio comparing with the DE members. Is it 1 to 5?

there are definitely more DE's out there than HR's. figure 4 years for DE production compared to just 2 of the HR

I was wonder whether Nissan has finished develope the HR engine when they launched the 350Z back in 2002? Would they used the HR then?

Thanks for all of the positive feedback everyone! As for how I would compare the 370z the SS and the HR I have now... Honestly, it's kinda apples and oranges. I spent a lot of money under the hood on my 06 350Z revup, my 370, and my SS. MY HONEST OPINION between the three was that between my old 350z and the 370 was that the 370z was obviously much faster, however, the 350z for whatever reason FELT faster which made it more fun to drive, for me anyways. Plus I ran into many problems with the 370z going into limp mode (yes I had an oil cooler). The 370 was much more temperamental than the 350. The 350 did what I wanted it to do when I wanted to do it but the 370 was fickle and was unpredictable. To me, the 350 HR was the obvious choice. It performs as reliably as my 06 350 with numbers comparable to the 370 but without the problems. It is every bit as fun to drive as my 06 and feels just as responsive and refined as the 370. I didn't settle for my new 350z hr, I chose it over another 370 for those reasons.
Now the SS is another story. I had about all the bolt ons you can squeeze into my 370 along with having it tuned AT uprev. It was faster than my SS was when I bought it off the show room but once I put all my mods on the SS it was leaps and bounds faster than the 370, and handled well too. I won't say very much was bad about the Camaro. It handled well, looked sharp, and regularly stole corvettes lunch money. However, it was a muscle car through and through. The Z is and always will be my first love for staying a classy, refined true sports car!
Phew! I need a drink after all this typing!

Hey Undercover, i think all us SA guys should get together and start something...i was gonna hook up with Z sport of SA see how they have been doing but its been YEARS.

I have the SAME EXACT sentiment about my 370...it performed when it wanted to and how it wanted too. Fickle is such a spot on word. I had Stillen intakes, FI LTH and exhaust with UPREV also. It was decently quick but it was fickle. I came from a DE before that so obviously it was a pleasant upgrade, but my 350 DE was a tank, solid, reliable and predictable...I only lasted about a year in the 370 before i upgraded to a 5.0...that car when it was running right blew my socks off! Beast of a car...I had JLT intake, Boss mani, Kooks LTH and exhaust, shaftmasters DS, and AED tune. My best trap was 121 @ 11.4...it was beautiful. But the car started to fall apart on me. Honestly i got a lemon, and ford, after extensive repairs, bought it back and put me in a 13 5.0...it wasnt quiet the same...I had it for about 2 years but didnt really mod it, lost interest. But my dad loved it, so he got. I drove a civic for a couple of months, but im an import guy at heart and the Z was my first love. So i started HR hunting, found one and here I am! In comparison as far as the 370 vs 350HR...its a drivers race, no question about it. The HR feels every bit as strong, more responsive, and not fickle at all....like you said, it does what i want, how i want it. I loooove this car. Now the 5.0 vs the HR...i can see it keeping up for a couple of seconds at the hit but after that it will freight train right by you. I remember putting a killing on full bolt on , geared, and tuned 370 when all i had was an AED tune and LP off road X.

Yup that sounds about right! I loved my SS but im very happy to have a HR Z now. In all honesty, I would probably not ever get another 370. it sounds like our stories are similar. Hopefully we can all meet up soon!
