I have an opportuntity to get a 370Z. At first I was all for it but now Im getting cold feet. I don't know much about the new Z except that I like the styling. Would it be a mistake to get rid of a limited edition car for an every day Z?
i would only trade in an older nismo for a new 370 nismo. i like the base 370 better than a base 350, but i prefer the 350 nismo over a base 370. that was the delima i faced when i bought my 07 nismo, and i dont regret my choice. it may seem cool now since the 370 is new and there arent that many of them, but in 2 or three years the 370 with be a dime a dozen out there and your nismo will still be limited.

True, I didn't think of that. I was focusing on the features of the car. I was thinking a downgrade in car line like the 370 with sports pkg may have better performace and features.

I dont track my Nismo just to work and take it on short trips, I like the 370z nismo better than the regular 370Z, but on looks alone, not the added HP, if both cars had same HP I would still like the 370Z nismo better.I say go for it!
Does the limited aspect even matter to anyone? --> not trying to be a dick, serious question.
I don't think it'll be "classic" in the future. And if it's not going to be a classic what's the point of holding on to it when you like a similar, more current car better?
the 370 nismos arent going to be limited?!? so its going to be like an option? (Base, Enthusiast, Touring, Grand Touring, NISMO)
Well I bought into the idea that the car would get me top dollar in the future because it was a limited production. But if they are going to be bringing these nismos out every year then it just makes it just another car. Looking at resale value they are not any better than any of the other models. They just cost more in the begining.

if you buy brand new you have to go into it knowing that you paid 2-3 grand just to be the person to drive the car off the lot. Unless you think your car is going to one day be considered a classic, you're losing money to depreciation everyday that goes by and every minute you're actually driving your car. How much does the Nismo cost brand new, like 45k? 20k over a base model? With that 20k you can make that base model more unique and one of a kind than the Nismo. It'll look more unique and perform better w/ that 20k. A person buying a used z will see this as well. Unless you really care about the number you're given with the Nismo, you're not going to shell out top dollar for it in the used car market (from a buyer's perspective). If your plan is to own a Nismo for however long, then sell it for top dollar, letting you have owned it for x amount of years for cheap (your cost - selling cost = you owned a nice car for x amount of years for cheap)... You're best off getting rid of it now and getting the 370.
In 1965 a man named Shelby was given a car to fix up and road race(scca). Fast forward 42 years and the same thing happened with Autech (ie 350z). Look up the price of 65-67 gt350's. Original owner low milage cars get 250k, for a car that cost 3500. These 350nismo's are good investment as well as alot of fun to drive. Keep all the parts and beable to put back to original condition, you'll be good to go and have fun driving the Nismo 350z. A lot of simularitys with the 1965-69 gt350 Mustang
Carrol Shelbys personal gt500 he owned, brought in over 5 mill. this summer i believe!!!
