^^^Welcome to the forum, post pics ASAP!!!

To answer your question, yes the HKS exhaust you have will fit your nismo. From the cats back, the exhaust is the same as any 350z...Its the cats or test pipes that are different, based on if you have the HR motor or DE motor...

As far as i know the HR motor only came in the 07-08 Z's, my 03 had the DE and my 07 Nismo has the HR. Ive asked around a few places, some say no it wont fit (but couldnt tell me why), some say it might, others say they dont know. I asked the guy i got it from and he says the headers and DP's are different and it wont fit but couldnt verify it and not having a lift and it being 20 degrees outside during the day im not exactly willing to jack it up and look to see what im working with right now, so im just trying to get an idea of what i need to do to make this exhaust work, just something to go on so when i get under the car i have something to work with.

Well I can tell you after owning both an 06 (VQ35DE) 350z and an 07 (VQ35HR) 350z nismo and having experience with 5 different exhausts...The exhausts are the same. The cats to the engine is different, but after the cats, the exhaust is the same... 100% sure.

Well you've been more help to me then the others i've spoken with IN person so thanks for that.

Now when you say "the cats to the engine is different", do you mean their different as far as where they sit to line up with the exhaust? or their just physically different but line up just the same? The way you explained it leads me to believe it all lines up the same if you've used all these types of systems between the different years and they've all worked fine, assuming no mods to fit them, so im hopin as far as what your telling me, i should be fine..

Sorry if ur annoyed with me gettin so technical about this, all the work ive done on z's have all been with the DE motor. I supercharged and tuned my old 03 by myself and helped with a few TT builds, but outside of the DE motor, im lost. Much thanks for the help so far though.

No problem...basically the cats are different to line up with the engine depending on the DE vs HR engine...they attach to the exhaust the same for both types of engines though...So you can use the same exhaust/ypipe for both engines, but not cats/headers...

If you haven't done so already, make sure to post in the NISMO registry thread. Thanks!

Default 2007 Nismo with Fast Intentions custom Exhaust

Just got my new Fast Intentions Exhaust and Test Delete pipes installed on the Nismo. Sounds awesome!! Running a Cobb Tune Stage II which takes care of the CEL light issue. Here are some pics and video links

Too fast too furious....

I'm not flaming either car just looks confused...I hope this was done out of an insurance accident. I'm sure in a sound mind and body you didn't make these changes on your own. If so...cool!

Do you have aftermarket cats? Pretty positive your grip exhaust doesn't replace the stock cats. How old is the exhaust? This question belongs in the tech section.

After market cats / test pipes are hit or miss for throwing codes on our motors. Just because it's throwing a code doesn't mean something is wrong with it. Do some reading in the VQ35HR sub forum in the tech section. All your questions will be answered!
