Default Sag picks up his Nismo #0498

flew out to illinois yesterday to scoop the new ride! #498

weather was pretty cold but luckily the roads were mostly dry. freezing fog in nebraska and leftover ice in the center of the road in eastern colorado but it made it the 1000 miles just fine! (one hiccup where a gas pump handle wouldnt fit in or fill)

very fun car. ride quality is firmer than i was anticipating and it is much slower than i had hoped but the goal is to just have fun with a reliable street/canyon/open lapping toy

got home this afternoon, quick wash and went out with a buddy to snap some quick first day pics.

brakes/fluid/throw it on the rack tonight, then im hitting the race track tomorrow for open lapping! will have more pics later after editing.

Congrats! When I run into you I'll give you a thumbs up! Sadly, the car is slower at 5280.

Congrats on the Nismo! Any mod plans for the Nismo?
I believe there was a slave cylinder recall for the 2007 models, to get the slave replaced. Check to see if that got done.

mod plans are tires and lapping days. i race sportbikes but have zero car on track experience. luckily my roommate is a 4 time national champion, twice in nasa time trials and twice in autox. ive only ever been in car with him and finally need to give it a go myself! not going to get into it heavily though, i know there are better race options. got the Z because i love the styling and whatnot, its larger and has enough punch to not drive myself insane on the street like a brz/miata/s2k etc...

fits nicely in the garage

Awesome pictures man.

Whoa, NSX. Is that more your daily driver? Didn't want to track that?

Sounds like you have a great resource for track info. Plus I'm sure you can apply a portion of your existing track knowledge from bikes.

Wow very nice.

What do you and your roommate drive in the winter time? Colorado must be a lot like where I live, snow snow snow from November to March.

I currently have on order with Tire Rack the MPSS, however the rear tires are on backorder, indefinitely. I emailed Michelin directly and they're saying it's a national backorder and they have no date as to when it will be in production. I'll have to check some local vendors to see if they have any in stock, doubtful though. Hopefully you'll have better luck getting the tires.

i picked up two rear ~90% life mpss singles on ebay for $340 bucks shipped.

we actually dont have too many snow on the road days. colorado, especially ft collins, is super sunny. we only get a couple maybe large snow storms where its on the road for more than a few days. we also dont use salt so play cars and even the bike can come out quite a bit during winter months. roommate has a 4 runner and i have a beater altima on snow tires.

Curious what you paid for it, if you don't mind sharing.

The Nismo should be stomping that S2K in no time! Give yourself some time to adjust to it and new tires should help.

I have Hankook Evo2s on my Z and I love em, but it's a garage queen not dealing with daily duty anymore. I would look into their RS3s if you like a sticky tire. I drove my buddy's on the freeway and I felt so much more confident just cruising.

I love the shots, the one of you in front of the S2k would be my background if your Z was PPW

Any mods besides tires in the pipeline?

Welcome and enjoy!
