Do I dare and say that the 350Z HR is faster than the 370Z VHR

Yea I mean sure the Nismo 370Z should probably put up better numbers for what it is...

But it is still faster than the Nismo 350Z around a track. An extra 44 hp over the 350z is quite a bit.

I wonder how it stacks up against the regular 370Z?

In my opinion: The Nismo 370Z should have had everything the 350Z with the engine and rear tire width upgrade the only difference. I own a 350 Nismo, and they did that right. You paid a premium for it but everything on the damn thing is pretty much track functional.

What pisses me off with the 370 Nismo is that they are selling it to a small group of people who are most likely buying it because they are going to take it to a track and didn't equip it properly.... Charge me an extra grand or two and put the good brakes on it and a proper oil cooler.

^Hrrrrmmm... something about this list looks fishy. (was it a wet lap? I am shocked that a mustang been an Evo, 1 Series and S5. Not to mention an IS-F!

Edit: How the Fu*k did any of these cars beat the IS-F. It outclasses all of them except for maybe the RS 4. But all the reviews I have read about the GT 500 say it is all over the place handling wize. I am surprised it is on top

I too like the IS-F and the idea the car is built on, but it is a slow track car. I don't think it was designed to see true track use and it shows in its times. Tons of power for the stop light shootouts and that's it. As for the S5, its a great car too but its kinda heavy for the amount of power it has. After-all it is a 4000 lb car.

I think the Mustang is an anomoly. Its not a run of the mill Mustang, its has a special track package available from the dealer. The tires that come on this package improved its lap times something like 3-4 second a lap alone (it came to the track with the wrong tires on it first so they tested it anyways while waiting for the right tires). One car that did surprise me (other than the Nismo) was the TT-RS. That time seems a little optimistic, but it is what it is.

By a fraction of a second, big deal. It's really not any better of a track car. At VIR, the NISMO 370z was only 0.5 seconds faster than a standard DE powered Z, now that's sad.

You do also realize, the NISMO 370z makes the 350hp @ 7400 RPM, and has a redline of 7500 RPM, so in order to really make power, it needs to be constantly running at high RPM's.

^all the reviews I have read place the IS-F right up in the same category as the M3. In almost all of the tests I have read about they ran nearly identical lap times.

The Audi TT-RS is a friggen rediculous car. It is quite fast. They did a review of it for Fifth Gear. The TT-S is kind of a puss car but the TT - RS is the real deal.

I seriously question these lap times. Also, I would be interested to see the Nuremburg lap times for these cars. That to me is the real test. As good as a car is, so much comes down to the driver. Were these laps all done by the same driver?

^Yea I get what you're saying. But everyone has been bashing the car so much.

It is pretty much the same price as the 350Z Nismo, and has the same lap times.

All I am saying is that other than the looks preferance, I would still buy a Nismo over most of the other competition in that price range. But I still love my Nismo 350Z

I'm not trying to bash the nismo 370z, If I didn't have a nismo 350z, more than likely I'd be driving a nismo 370z by now. I just like to point out that both are pretty much even on a race track, even with the 44 HP difference.

^I think what happened is everyone put so much emphasis on the extra horsepower and was bull when it didn't make a bigger difference.

The reason being....

Crappy brakes, and less handling ridgitity from not having a seam welding chassis is the reasoning for the less than impressive lap times. Not the horsepower.

Frankly the 350 hp is pretty impressive from a 3.7 liter V6

So all I have to do is add some Advans and my car could lap just as quick as a Nismo 370z.

Don't forget guys... almost every other test saw a huge improvement in lap times. There could be more to the results than we know. On their website there are various track vids of the other cars but none of the 370z. This fact leads me to believe he might have taken it easy due to confidence issues. I did noticed the test driver was no slouch, looked to be a dedicated driver and not so much a run of the mill journalist/driver.

its hilarious how many 350z owners bash the 370...

I will bet any amount of money put a pro driver in my car and in nismo 558s car and my 09 sport 370z with test pipes and intakes will demolish the nismo 350..

I ran a 07 HR with I/H/TP/E Tune and got him by 2-3 cars with me owning the 370 for 3 weeks... I have now had it for 4 months and have become more accustomed to the car and where to shift and how it behaves and the outcome would be worse.. Now i know this is not on a track and I have not gotten into track racing, but I can tell you there is absolutely nothing wrong with the way my 370z handles.. It inspires confidence and is very predictable... Its a much better handling car than my g35 was with coilovers, alignments, nismo sways, etc... Its better than that car in every single way. And yes the nismo 350 is a track car but it is not as fast and it certianly is not miles ahead of the 370z in any aspect... Id glady give my car up to a pro to test it against a 350hr nismo ... And id put a heavy wager on my car. Any takers out there that know a driver that will go ***** to the wall with our cars for some fun ? lol

that kid was a street racing maniac and its never my thing to do so, but i absolutely had to see what my car had at the time. Now i wont waste my time and have had countless 350s try to mess with me and I just keep it moving at 55 and laugh.

you do realize when you racing you tend to keep everything at 4000 rpm and higher right? its great that it hits 350hp at 7400rpm because it gives you a wider rpm band. that is on of the advantages the HR has over the DE, the fact that it hits its peak horsepower higher up the rpm range then the DE giving the HR more power for a longer period of time in each gear. your complaint doesnt make much sense.

edit, i tried to keep it civil but man i swear, you are freakin moron, this just proves how ignorant you are.
