So I'm curious to all you Nismo owners out there. I'm a hair away from owning my second Z, and its a Nismo at that. I wanted a 370, didnt think I'd manage a Nismo out of the deal, so I'm pretty excited. 35k out the door, with a lil over 10k miles on it. They might end up going lower, but its not looking like that at this point.

Anyway..so it will probably be a while before I start really getting into the modding scene again. I got the Nismo hoping the way it comes would satisfy me for a while. My question for all of you is what, if any, mods have you guys done to your Nismo's? Other than an oil cooler, wheels are the only thing I can think of to start with.

tint, coilovers, exhaust, shorty antenna, intake, shift ****, seats.....i bet its the same as modding any other car or a regular z

if it still has the oem super powerful stereo then you might want to consider replacing it with a better one, cold air intakes will make the Z sound a lot better too.

So basically, the Nismo doesn't really have anything done to it, that doesnt need an upgrade? Nothing in the Nismo package that says, "this is good enough", or "I can come to that later" based on the difference between the Nismo package and the regular?

I would add some spacers and call it a day. Only thing good about the nismo, imo, is the body kit. The nismo exhaust and suspension are an improvement over the regular z's, but if you want to mod the car by lowering or adding more sound, then those aren't even usefull

It seems to me like nismos hold it's re sale value better than your average Z. If I could go back I'd def purchase a nismo. Id replace the suspension & call it a day

You buy a Nismo to track. Take advantage of the seam welded (stitch welded?) chassis.

One could argue that keeping a Nismo stock and prestine could one day (many many many years from now) be essential in bringing in big bucks as a collectors car being that it's a limited edition of sorts. That's what the general rule is as auto auctions; unaltered, all original cars bring more money. However, unless you plan on keeping it in a garage for 30 years, I say mod away.

And to be honest, I would like to have a Nismo for Blue's reason. Its a breed apart and someday that might come in to play. Whether as resale, or just collectors appreciation.

I did the standard exhaust, tune and spray on mine. It's just another car. Good tires and upgraded brakes, enjoy the stock chassis tune, only thing it really needs to be a nice daily is more power. That's easy.

350 Nismos were taken off the assembly line and seam welded. 370 Nismos were not. 350 Nismos are considered more "hard-core" from the factory compared to the 370 Nismo. The 370 Nismo is a softer, more comfortable ride, which I personally believe Nissan did to expand the Nismo market beyond those that only want to track it.

Soo.. guess I'll start with the usual at the front and work my way back. If I'm going to mod it like its a regular Z, first things first, intakes, then headers and exhaust. Not going to go FI until the suckers paid off, but that will be the big power maker eventually I think. New wheels with new rubber. Oh, and tint is a must.

LOL so much fun to be back in this game.

First Nismo mods;
Oil Cooler, specially if you really want to race it.
Brake up grade, pads and stainless steel brake lines, rotors too if you want to get serious.
Swift springs look very sweet, I'm curious about the eibach springs made just for the nismo.
Coilovers if you want to get serious about lowering or racing, if you want to go low ajustable arms would be a good idea correct, camber, toe etc.
Intakes
ECU Tuning, I hear Uprev works pretty good
Power steering cooler
catback Exhaust, straight pipes are stinky
headers
Tires, upgrade your rubber to 265/35/19 in the front and 305/30/19 in the back

I've frequent the other site it's useful but it's jam packed with newbs. If you do mod your Nismo I think If anything it has to be to performance! IMHO it has to be either mildly modified exhaust/intake/tune/wheels&tires then get more radical if anything! That's just me many think not to touch the Nismo. I think otherwise, I want folks to be moved when they see Nismos either to be shocked at its well keep condition or mad at the level you took the performance to over a stock Z.

Along with that keep your stock pieces if you ever have a doubt on keeping it. So that you can return to stock. This you may already know, but the parts cost to much to replace if you plan on selling. Roughly 4-5k over a lower trim Z!
