hey i know that the stock block can hold up to 400 hp but that is pushing it alot but i was looking at the nitrious kits and i was thinking just on the stock block a 50 shot or wet maby 75 i could spray alot with it and nothing happend. i would spray at 3500 rpms. Just wanted to see if i was on the right paths thanks
A 50 is no problem in fact you will probably want to up it to 100 shortly after you get used to things. The general consensus says that the stock block is fine with a 150 shot provided you have it tuned, and colder plugs, retard timing ect.
What year do you have? 3500 is a good RPM to have your window switch start at.
I would highly suggest looking at the big thread that is stickied. It will answer most, if not all your questions.
Personally, I would never go above 125. I really dont think these motors can take a 150 shot and survive 25% of its expected life. I actually think a 100 is pushing it. When I spray at 950psi even on a tuned map with 3 degrees pulled running at a perfect 11afr the motor still feels like it just wants to break apart from the tork. Im sure its taking its tool wearing it to death.
Remember that the smaller the motor, the bigger effect of the shot. Thats why most of my friends with S2000's have 75shots and really cant go higher. Less pistons means more concentration of N20 in the others.
That why most of my V8 friends laugh when they heat about my "baby shot". Then they remember that I have a V6.
