Default VQHR Zex Kit and Dyno

Just finished the install of the Zex kit on my 08 350z. So far pleased with the performance but I am concerned that I am running to rich with the suggested fuel jets that came with the kit. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I am running a 75 shot, 30 nitrous 17 fuel.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/wesratcliff/3722246995/

Max power was 335hp and 312tq (No Chart) bottle pressure was around 930-950. This was done on a DynoJet.

Says 75 shot...

Try bumping your fuel jet down a size. What is the current jet combo? Should be around a 40/30 if it was a single nozzle, but I don't know what they run for the dual setup.

Also, that looks just like a mustang dyno with the twin back rollers. If you are doing that power on there, thats more than a 75 shot

What other mods do you have? What tuning?

The pills are 30 nitrous 17 fuel. I should have clarified it was done on a mustang dyno, but the operator did the numbers in DynoJet. As for other mods Injen dual intakes, which lost hp compared to stock but it was minimal. I have no tuning done. My car was running really rich N/A, I don’t know if all 350z run rich stock to protect cats. When on the nitrous I was seeing 9.1 which is as low as the wideband reads and 10.3 10.5, could this be due to my bottle pressure being too low at 950? I will be hitting the dyno again next week, but not sure what size fuel shot to run.

Bottle pressure isn't too low at 950, thats right where it should be. If your car is rich off bottle, it will be rich on bottle too. Get the car tuned for the intakes or put the stock airboxes back on. Mine has the same issue, just intakes and a muffler, a/f's are in the high 9's on the dyno, the tuner at the shop was telling me it's due to the intakes. Gotta either tune or go back to stock to get the a/f right, then jet accordingly to keep the a/f in the 12.0 range or lower on bottle.

Changed the fuel jets to 16, dynoed at 338hp 307tq. Car was ridiculously hot and so was the dyno shop. AF ratio stayed consistent at 11.5 where I assume it should be on nitrous. I guess each car is different; it’s interesting to see that other cars with same kit will be perfect with the included jets, whereas mine was extremely rich.

I am considering installing this Kit on my Nismo.

Guy what other Mods do you have? Or is this a stock HR with Zex kit?

My base as of right now before installing a Zex kit is 314 WHP. Curious to see what my car will produce with a 75 shot.

Whats your review of this kit? How often do you spray?

Also post up some pics of the install.

Where did you install the bottle? I was thinking in place of the spare tire. I would like to keep it hidden.

The Zex kit is great had it on less than a month and gone through four bottles. I have injen intakes and the Zex kit; I made 278 dynojet with intakes. So your car would be making great power. The kit is super easy to install, just change your plugs and you’re good to go.

In the first pictures you can see where I hid the Zex box against the firewall. The kit is on the car in every picture, the hoses are covered in wire loom. Il post more pictures later so you can see everything.

A ten pound bottle would be to large to place where the spare tire goes. I tired a hundred diffrent positions lol. I was acutally thinking of doing two 5lb bottles where the spare is. I post pics of my bottle later this evening.

Sorry if the pictures are not the greatest. When I installed the kit I had the intentions of no one ever noticing the kit. So far so good, with the hood popped local car clubs no one has said a word. Even guys with Z's dont even notice the kit.

The only way I could get really good pics is if I tore down the car again. Which isnt happening til the 100shot. If anyone has any questions about the install feel free to PM me or ask in this thread.
