Default How to spray an 5AT

Just a question i thought of yesterday. How do you guys spray your 5AT?
At 2nd gear and then activate the nitrous? or is it going to failure between the gears?

On any auto, you don't want to spray in between shifts. There's a few reasons; 1) Wasting nitrous, 2) is rough on the torque converter, and 3) harder on the transmission since the torque converter is over spinning. More or less it's like WOT shifting on a manual.

All the auto guys I know on nitrous (not specific to the Z/G platform), they follow those rules to the T. I don't know if it's widespread rumors, or if it was ever proven, but it makes sense to me.

I would use a window switch to cut off at least a couple hundred revs before the shift point.

I've been running a 75 shot on my automatic with no problems. However I did add a transgo shift kit and a external trans cooler. It works great.

Anyone running both external and internal transmission cooler? I looking to buy a new high performance radiator that has the lines coming out the bottom. I called Z1 Motorsports and they said that the one they have is CSF and it will not work with an automatic transmission but in the picture it shows and states it will work in an automatic transmission.
can anyone confirm this? Reading Chevy forums it seams better to run both especially living in Florida.
