Default are tinted taillights illegal in Iowa?

Anyone know the answer to this, I am hearing it both ways?

What exactly does that mean? They would be 17% tint so 83% of light would show through. ANy ideas??

Call the Highway Patrol or your local Police Dept. Some years back I had questions about tinting on my 300ZX. I just called the HP and got the answer from them.

it was a joke, you said you had heard both things, so I gave you both answers again.

in reality thogh, I dont know, why dont you just do the black housing mod? that was its darkened up without losing any of the light emitting capabilities
