We need to get you up to speed, I am going to talk to JR and see if its ok for us to BBQ as well as participate in thier BBQ so there are no hurt butts on the NWN group. Also how about having a BBQ after the meet at say my place for the Z\G folks ?? David seems to be up for it so far, I could be a great way to get the oregon guys together with us as well.
What about something the night before? I'd rather roach-motel it Saturday night than hit the road at 5am. I'm going to start a new thread for an Oregon/SW Washington convoy to guage interest.
Great discussion guys! I hope everyone can make plans to keep that day/weekend open for GG, and that others will have their cars drivable.
This is an NWN meet, and they're already BBQ'ing. It's fine if we don't eat, but having our own separate BBQ seems a bit rude, imo. I think the best thing would be to figure out (ahead of time) how many people will stick around to go eat afterwards, and make reservations somewhere nearby. Something like The Ram or maybe even that new Super Buffet in the same building as Best Buy/Target. I actually heard it's pretty good.
Our meeting spot last year worked great. Northgate mall parking lot in front of Toys 'R Us. I say we use the same place again.
How about some info as to wtf Golden Gardens is for those of us that are new?
Every year for the past 5 (maybe 6) years Northwest Nissans (http://www.northwestnissans.com) has been holding an all Nissan event at Golden Gardens park in Seattle(http://www.northwestnissans.com/boar...d.php?t=67247). Each year it gets bigger (400 cars from NWN's 2007 event estimate) and it's probably safe to say this it is the largest Nissan/Inifinti gathering in the Pacific Northwest, if not then possibly the west coast, lots of guys come down from Canada, up from Oregon, Eastern WA and probably from other states too.

Ok, so I got a call back from the Parks dept. 85th is, indeed, closed...but just the section going down the park due to a rockslide. The best alternate route would be to tak the 45th St. exit, heading West all the way down to Ballard, and taking Seaview Ave. heading North into the park. I can post up some directions later on.
I would think that Northgate would still be fine. It's going to end up being a little out of the way for people coming from the south, but pretty much everyone knows where it is or can find it easily. Plus, there's abundant parking.
And really, how out of the way is it? Like 5 minutes?
We could meet in the Safeway (I think its safeway) parking lot south of ballard high school. I think it is off market street. That would be perfect. we could cruise by the locks and on into shilshole.
Is there anyone willing to sacrafice their living room for an Oregonian? If you guys plan on meeting up at 7:30, that means I have to hit the road around 5ish.
you could crash at my place as well

There looks to what might be an acceptable parking at the Ballard Lock (ie: Hiram M Chittenden Locks) but from what I recall the parking lot surface is pretty rough (possibly even a dirt lot). However it is right on NW 54th St which becomes Seaview Ave NW (goes right into GG) and is only a mile from the park.
