Heya All. I got to be upfront I have a RX-8 but love the 350Z as well! I think that both cars are pretty awesome so I hope you don't mind a 8 guy checking out Z stuff. I actually have a small club down in the South Bay for 8s, It would be nice if we had a cruise together some time. I live in North San Jose.

What's up guys. My name is Jason Purdy and I just signed up a couple days ago. I've been deciding between a used '03 and a new '04. Price difference is 23k for the old, hopefully 25k for the new (is this a good price?) Problem, I think i don't have to pay tax for the used so the actual difference would be 23k to 27k, so four grand. O ya, and both a base models. so lots of room for customize.
Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself and hopefully get some input on which car i should buy (4 grand is alot for me so that's why it's a hard decision.) Thanks guys and can't wait to come out on Nov 11 track day!

nissanusa.com shows msrp for base is $26,500 but you can talk that down... i got my 04Z Base for $26,300 with the spoiler , cargo mats, floor mats, kick plates , and side air bags... on 8-30-03 (a year ago) so you should get the 05 base for below msrp...

Jason, wait till the end of the month, that's usually when the Creek and Capitol and many other dealerships duke it out for the position of Number One in sales in the Western region. You can and should get a similar deal to Henry (Z-INCOGNITO).
By the way, you can find info about the next big meet here:

Yeah you do have to pay sales tax when you buy a used car.....doesn't seem right paying tax on a car that was already taxed, but that's the way it is.

hey tricio and all,
I was just thinking about how the DMV is going to try to tax me on the used one. PLEASE somebody tell me if i'm wrong, but i think that they are going to ask me for how much i bought the car for when i register it. What would prevent me from saying that i paid 100 dollars or something for it? Those idiots at the DMV (sry anyone who works there) won't know the difference will they? Thx guys...also PLEASE PLEASE keep your eyes out for a 04 enthus cause OP Z was tellin me how i could prolly get a enthus 04 for the same price as a base 05. SO anyway, keep your eye out for a blue 04 enthus cause I'll buy it!

O hey! I totally forgot about today too cause the forum was down earlier: I went to Steven Creek Nissan and they gave me a 1000 discount three days ago for a base (down to 26,4 w/out tax) and today i said i wanted to pay 24k (but would settle for 25 or so) and the guy said he can't sell it for less than 27 plus a grand markup but he'd leave the markup off just for me. What a *****...so i walked. I wasn't going to pay 27k before taxes (around 31k after taxes) for a base. Blah, fu## that place.
