I was at Pocono Race track this weekend having some fun on my scooter, and all the talk was about this EVO that smashed into an NSX and a G35 that were sitting on the gid waiting for them to finish their session.
Funny thing is, one of my good friends girlfriend was the instructor in the car that caught the whole thing on video. She stated that she wasn't aware of the camera, and the guy in the car was friends with the guy in the EVO. They both didn't know how to drive for crap, and where trying to show boat and make a cool video for the internet - well, they got one... too funny...
yeah, try explaining that one to your insurance company. you might as well start talking to your lawyer to try and get the money out of the EVO owner/driver. oh and start shopping for a new car insurance company...

Note to self...never ever run with whatever group put that event on. Judging by their safety standards in the grid, I am suprised they had instructors for beginners. Seriously, who in their right mind would have the cars grid right there with no protection between them and a hot track. The are very lucky that there wasn't a grid marshal standing at the front of that line. He/she would have been dead. Live and learn I guess.

Guys, the owners of these cars are trying to get all pictures and video off of the internet so out of respect for them please delete them from your original post Philthy.
Link to the thread where he asks for all pictures/video to be removed...
if the car is sitting still, on a track or not, and gets plowed into, insurance should cover it.
the owners of the g35 and nsx might be able to get their insurance to cover their own damages, but I wouldn't be surprised if they got their policies nonrenewed b/c of the circumstances. I mean obviously they were waiting to get on the track and no personal auto policy will cover you while "racing". plus their going to be pissed b/c if they do end up paying out for the G35 and nsx, they're going to have to try to get the money out of the EVO owner. and the EVO is completely SOL b/c his insurance company has absolutely no responsibility.

I agree that it was not a wise move to have those cars/people near the track without a barrier. Some people may not have track experience thus dont know better but those that were running the event have no excuse.
