Lately, theres been a FLOOD of these new altima 2 door coupes on the road, HOWEVER, they are pissing me off! Everytime I end up pulling up next to one, they look at me, give me a dirty look and take off! I didn't even do anything, reving, trying to pass em/cut em off, etc. They just look, and step on it..this has happened 4-5 times already in a period of 2 months. Anyone else getting this cr@p? Yeah sure you have better mpg but we get the ladies =D
and what the hell nissan..I thought the Z line was special...I sware everyones gonna get the 3.5 vq now..
my cuz has a V6 coupe and im not gonna lie the CVT is pretty f*cking cool but they are slow as dirt, my old 97 maxima 5spd with bolt ons was dead even with him, my HR Z just kills him ... its not even fun anymore. I although have never had a altima driver try and race me, thats probably cause im the guy going 65 on the freeway just listening to music and enjoying life.

At the end if the day just remember that they are driving a FWD detuned version of your car. The altima coupe tries to look like and perform like the z, and fails at both. Just laugh at them and drive away
Nissan’s blueprint for a return to profitability started 3 or 4 years ago. A significant part of this plan was sharing components (such as engines, suspension, etc.) across the entire line, and even to the Infiniti. That’s why you see so many similarities in various models.
The Altima coupe (along with other Nissan models) does have the 3.5 liter engine. It is “chipped” differently for less performance and slightly better mileage. And, of course, FWD won’t handle the same power (all else being equal) as RWD without significant torque-steer. That’s why you never see a powerful engine matched to FWD (Ok… Saab tried this with FWD and its Viggen model, but it was awful and sales failed). The best setup with a powerful engine and lots of torque is RWD or AWD (with a bias towards the rear wheels).
Relax… I doubt you will see many Altima coupes running at the track.
