Default Canon 5D MkII

50D or 5DII, that's the new question.

Thanks to the competition, the ante's raised.

They're already "dirt cheap." At least compared to when they first came out.

You can find them for $1500 now if you look and you're patient.

Anyone visited the site? Does the HD video feature have no audio?

There's a microphone jack, so there is audio. Video sure does look "professional" shot through good glass. Really stands out from that "video cam" look as you can play with DOF on video. $2,600... man, I wish I had extra $$$ lying around

It would be nice if they actually tried and tested the audio. Sure i'm not expecting grand audio, but still. haha!

Eh, I won't be "upgrading" to either of these. Not too impressed.

The reviews aren't even out yet. I'd wait until first impressions...

Maybe like this one?:

Another first impression by a duo of two top wedding photographers:

http://www.bebbblog.com/index.php?link=94&cat=7

The "in" thing now is high ISO, which can:

1) Speed up slow lenses without the noise issues
2) Allow low-light shots not possible before.

Check the link... The first image is incredible

Even the ISO 25600 shot... the noise looks like film grain. A totally usable image.

Hopefully, the 50D's high ISO performance is similar.

That's freakin crazy!!! I was wondering if anyone here could tell me what type of flash card memory is the 5dmkII going to be using? CF flash still? kinda makes me wonder how quickly a 4gb or 8gb would get filled up using video mode.

the bad thing about this though is it only does 3.5 fps, thats pretty weak. but i think canon was actually gearing this camera towards the field reporter maybe. since it has the HD video and the image quality. but i have no need for one. i'd rather have a 50d over the 5d
