I'm interested in how these people catagorize instances of violence in Iraq as 'terrorism'. It looks to me as if they're calling any sort of violent act of insurgency in a wartime country "terrorism".
Terrorism is the new communism. We need something to hate and an enemy to fight so it might as well be terrorists.

I believe that is correct- the reason being that they classified a large majority of people killed by terror attacks as civilians, with almost all civs being muslim. So the civil war definitely played into the numbers.
However, listening to human rights groups around the world, one would place the civilian death toll due to war in general much higher.

Why non military? Would have been nice to include those numbers in there.

I wanted to be objective when talking about "our" (common civilians) chances of dying from the various causes in the first post. Adding in the deaths of our soldiers doesn't seem objective to me.
If I can find it, I'll add it in as a separate number. Shouldn't be too hard to find.
