Default Bush beating war drums against Iran, would you back him?

Simple question. Yes or no? And why

Me? The answer is NO. I haven't backed Bush since Afghanistan.

You think that's a simple question? That's your first mistake.

No, I made it a simple question because it's getting close to quitting time.

No.

The same day he says he should not have been so undiplomatic after 9/11, he goes and says something undiplomatic.

Iran is not an immediate threat to the west or it's allies no matter how much bluster Iran spews at Israel.

No. He's backpedaling on Iraq. He already said to the Euros that he wishes he wouldn't have used such strong rhetoric before the Iraq invasion...he said when he used terms like "bring 'em on", etc., the world didn't see him as "a man of peace". He wants to leave a legacy for the next president to be able to diplomatically get out of Iraq.

I kid you not. This is what is coming out of this man's mouth at the end of his term as he does his farewell tour of Europe.

Everytime the USA wants to do something regarding another country, the rational is they are threat to us and/or the poor people need us to form a Democracy. I am sure that Americans in the future will agree to it just like we have in the past. Just plan on us being in conflict after conflict for the next 100 years just as we have been the past 100 years.

Interesting how there are many nations that live with oppressive governments & we as a nation do not react to it but as soon as our business interests become threatened, the politicians begin preaching how we have to be the savior & free the people of that country from their evil goverment.

How many senators have their children enter the battlefield? I think it should be a requirement that the children of every senator, congressmen, & the president have to be in the field of battle. Maybe they would think twice about their actions when it was their own family haing to riask their lives.

Perhaps you should make an actual poll for this.

It's the point of his thread. If *he* wants to know what *we* think in a yes/no, explain fashion, perhaps he should do that.

What is wrong with you.

Not a thing; I guess I'm on a different level. To me, such a question is akin to asking if you've stopped beating your wife yet.

POLL:

______YES

______NO

Here is an example ( Ted Nugent - musician & hard core supporter of the current war & Republican party) of how it makes a difference when it is your life on the line vs others when deciding on going to war:

Military
An interviewer from the British newspaper The Independent questioned Nugent about a 1977 interview in High Times magazine in which Nugent allegedly detailed elaborate steps taken to avoid the Vietnam draft.

"I got 30 days' notice of the physical," Nugent told them. "I ceased cleansing my body. Two weeks before the test I stopped eating food with nutritional value. A week before, I stopped going to the bathroom. I did it in my pants. My pants got crusted up."

Nugent dismissed the veracity of these statements, saying "You've got to realise that these interviewers would arrive with glazed eyes and I would make stories up." He explained that he did not go to Vietnam because he had a 1 year student deferment. When questioned, he admitted that he had "not wanted to get his ass blown off in Vietnam," but made note of a tour he made with the USO in 2004 to Fallujah and Afghanistan as support of his assertion that "I am not a coward." He also said that "Because I failed to serve in Vietnam, I feel an obligation now, to do everything I can to support those defending our freedom. Do I feel guilt and embarrassment? Yes."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ted_Nugent

Notice how he "felt guilt" but did not serve & now is willing to be supportive but the bottom line is his butt is not being shot at even now.

^^^^^ Clearly posted in the wrong thread, as it doesn't have one fcuking thing to do with the OP's question.

I don't care what you think about the validity of *a poll*. My comment was directed at the OP in hopes that he can use the actual polling module to help him accomplish his objective.

Thanks for comparing a "will you support a strike on Iran" poll with "have you stopped beating your wife". That really sums your position up.

You're on a different level, I definitely agree.

Apparently I am, because I understand that answering that question with a simple yes or no is idiotic. Get back to me when your grey matter absorbs that.

It is a continuation of my previous post (look back 4-5 posts prior assuming you care to look).

In addition, you are too bright & articulate to have to resort to using 4 letter words in your post. Although I often disagree with what you say, I do have to say that you usually express it well. I am sure my post could not have made you that angry....

The thread calls for a "yes, no, and why". Vote and explain your argument. We've done it countless times in this forum. Get off of your high chair and come back to earth.

Examine the graphic below and please give me a Yes or No answer on the validity of the argument.

He just had a bad day and has come in here to vent. Don't take it personally- he treats all us lower life forms to the same gravitas. How lucky we all are to have him here.

You're still missing the point. A poll would not give him a 'why', which was my point. All a poll does is become propaganda, which I'm here to stop.

Mike (recognizes the liberal canard of bumper stickering everything to make it leftist propaganda)

First of all, zland, I did miss this post, and I'm sorry. Second, I actually had a great day, cheshire. My fledgling company had $50K in sales today!

As for your statement above: I understand where it comes from, but I do most definitely not think it is wise to have the emotionally fragile element of considering having my child die in a war which on principle needs to be fought possible jeopardize the intelligence of doing so.

No fcuking way. <---4 letter added for emphasis.
