I understand that we need to "rebuild" the image left by Bush, but how can you not think of your country's citizens first?

I was just giving Texans a hard time, there is no way the city of Seattle can compete with the entire state of Texas and the Union would suffer far greater if the State of Texas were lost as opposed to the city of Seattle. It just seems to me that I find a disproportionate amount of ignorant/racist/redneck people I come into contact with come from your state, hence my attitude towards Texas and Texans.
In terms of cities I will admit that Seattle is kinda "eh"...but it is better than Dallas or Austin and we do have Microsoft, Boeing, Starbucks, Costco, UPS, and Nordstroms....as well as the best seafood in the world IMO. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...Se attle_area

Wouldn't sending a message to the middle eastern nations signal that the US is not, and does not seek to be a threat to them? Doesn't that serve US citizens and soldiers by trying to lessen them as a target? Op statement has not been thought through obviously, but then I guess that's why he/she isn't in charge of a nation.

Exactly, there is nothing wrong with engaging with the Arab/Muslim world and not isolating them. IMO, it is long overdue and about time an American president did this.
