Why do so many liberals think that Rush is any kind of leader? Why do you think calling him out is so great, why would the people who are running the country worry about some ass hat on the radio instead of running our country? Why is he such a threat to you and what does a radio personality/entertainer have to do with fixing the economy, health care, education, and national security. It seems like the strategy should be to fix the nations problems and not worry about Rush.

I think you just answered your own question(s), rhetorical or not.
Michael Steele is so amusing. He'd have more credibility if he argued Rush was high on Oxycontin and didn't know what he way saying.... than to argue Rush isn't the de facto leader of the GOP.
I think a lot of people put much more stock into Rush's "pull" than what he really has.
Perhaps I'm completely wrong- I wonder what his ratings look like compared to five years ago? I don't feel that he's as much of a force as he once was.

14 million listeners every week......really no influence whatsoever......

it's an ebb and flow. the republicans were successful I think in casting off GW at the end and acting like they didn't support all of his policies. Then they lost an election... to a negro socialist... rush saw dollar signs in his eyes I am sure.
his influence and popularity will be on the rise, especially because the economy won't bounce back in a week like every idiot thinks it will with massive spending and so he can call it out all day long for a little while. then move on to the next issue when that turns around.

Like most successful radio personalities, tv personalities, etc in the political spectrum, he is polarizing, so his job is to keep things interesting for his faithful audience, and in doing so, possibly attract new attention. His core audience is going to vote how they vote regardless of him being on the air, or making noise during a public speaking appearance
On his radio show today, Limbaugh fired back, calling the RNC and Michael Steele "so-called Republicans" and saying that they "need a little leadership."
"So I am an entertainer and I have 20 million listeners because of my great song and dance routine," Limbaugh said. "Michael Steele, you are head of the Republican National Committee. You are not head of the Republican party. Tens of millions of conservatives and Republicans have nothing to do with the Republican National Committee...and when you call them asking for money, they hang up on you."
"I hope that changes," Limbaugh continued. "It's time, Mr. Steele, for you to go behind the scenes and start doing the work that you were elected to do instead of being some talking-head media star."
"I'm not in charge of the Republican Party, and I don't want to be," he said. "I would be embarrassed to say that I'm in charge of the Republican Party in a sad-sack state that it's in. If I were chairman of the Republican Party, given the state that it's in, I would quit."
Rush then mocked those who have criticized him for saying he wants Obama to fail, and directly challenged them to choose: You either want Obama to succeed or fail at his goal of dismantling conservatism.
"So send those fundraising requests out," Rush said in a sneering tone, in an apparent reference to Steele, adding: "Make sure you say, `We want Obama to succeed.' So people understand your compassion."
rush's speech was terrible, I could only watch three parts of like fifteen... he just went on and on and patted himself on the back more than half the time.
Obama is the United State's President. Kind of sad that he cries about how he is attacked by Rush/Hannity/etc. He should not care about what people think. That is a sign of a REAL LEADER. He sounds like a cheer leader to me. Then again is he known for his lip service. Here goes $$$$$ for tattoo removal in my dying state! Woo hoo! Real way to help the economy.
