Former Dallas mayor Ron Kirk, who is President Obama's nominee to be the U.S. Trade Representative, failed to pay almost $10,000 in taxes during the past three years because of a series of mistakes, the Senate Finance Committee announced today.
The man who is President Obama's newly minted urban czar pocketed thousands of dollars in campaign cash from city developers whose projects he approved or funded with taxpayers' money, a Daily News probe found.
Bronx Borough President Adolfo Carrion often received contributions just before or after he sponsored money for projects or approved important zoning changes, records show.

Democrats do not need qualify people, just people who are willing to hand out free checks to their voters! Look at Pelosi, she is getting SF 30 Mil to save a rat. She is top notch in that city's book. No need to care about California going BK.
Yay for tax dodgers! That's the reason why you'll never see a new tax system for America. The guys writing the tax laws leave in loopholes in the system to allow themselves to work around the system. *shrug* That's why it would be much better to have a flat tax or a consumption tax.

where are all of our beloved Obama supporters to defend this? Hellooooo? Oh that's right, they conveniently avoid this thread.
I voted for Obama. I don't support cheating if I can help it. I don't cheat myself. What's your point?

I'm beginning to wonder if there's a single Democrat, save Obama and Clinton, that doesn't owe back taxes.
I bet there is not a single member of congress who has perfect taxes.
and I bet 99% of the posters here who do not file a 1040EZ probably lied on their returns or omitted some things by accident.
Anyone else want to be audited and find out?
Dachle's 'mistake' was sufficient reason for him to be denied, as should have been Geither... because he had multiple year history of 'messing' up his taxes if I recall.
but these two guys we are talking about a very small amount compared to their income I am sure (10k and like 3k). they will pay back taxes with penalties I am sure and I know plenty of private citizens that have the same problems when the IRS chooses to audit them. it's not like private citizens are thrown in jail when they are found to have underpaid taxes. there is a system to resolve them.
