Default Why Does California Impose Stupid Energy Laws...

California has all this BS that so much of their energy has to come from wind, and solar power.

Why are people so stupid. These are hopeless, expensive, and stupid ways of getting energy.

They should can all that bull and just put up Nuclear Power Plants. Nuclear power plants of today are reliable, efficient, generate massive amounts of power, and are safe and clean.

Unline the 3 Mile Islands of the past, most of the Nuclear plants now are run by Navy guys that are experienced working with Nuclear subs and not some smuck that signed a release form Chernoble.

I wish people over there would get their heads out of their asses because the winds are carring all their damn smug over to the east coast.

Stop it damnit.... Connan the Barbarian, you should be ashamed.

In 100 years we're going to be digging up all the spent nuclear fuel under Yucca Mountain. We need to reprocess our waste.

ZOMG IT COULD EXPLODE LIKE A NUKLEUR BOMB AT NE MOMENT!!1

Seriously though, people are retarded and have no idea.

Aren't the maintenance costs of those wind towers astronomical due to their failure rate?

It's absolutely pointless to not be using nuclear power. In my opinion it's one of the cleanest and safest sources of power. I have a coal fired power plant less than 5 miles from my house and 4 more within 30 miles of where I live. They're the dirtiest thing ever. I get offended when people say nuclear power is dangerous I think it's the best thing since sliced bread. I also live within an hour and a half of three mile island and berwick nuclear power plant and I'm not afraid at all. We have over 50 windmills lining the mountain in the town where I grew up I think they're just as safe as nuclear power.

I believe they cost a lot to put up in the first place, and the propellers are hugely expensive to set up, plus the engeenering that has to go into them to make them stable at such a high altitude all while having wind blowing at them very fast with a propeller turning, and then getting that power generated through the tower is the expensive part.

and to get any useful power out of them you need a whole mountian top full of them, plus they are unreliable because you need a whole lot of wind going in the right direction to get them to work in the first place.

Solar is the same thing. If its cloudy and you want to watch Batman, guess what.... your chit out of luck.

Plus the power can't be stored and these solar and wind stations have to all be individually linked to the power grid, unlike one massive Nuclear plant that can have one massive line going out it.

I'm partially convinced that all these people who want to be green don't have jobs, and are just looking for something to ***** about.

Look at the organic food market. When people start loosing their jobs all of a sudden Land O Lakes for a buck looks a whole lot more appealing than snob ass organic co. $10 organic cheeze

These advocates of wind and solar power won't be happy about their electric bill, that's for sure.

And how many acres of solar panels will we need to make the power of one 1200MW nuke plant?

Oh.. and the nuke plant will run balls to the wall for 12-18 months... even at night.

The ironic thing is, is that CA can't even generate enough power with this BS "green" power so they have to go out and buy power from... guess where... the nuclear plants in bordering states. Not to mention the bordering states jack up the price because there is such a high demand for it in CA

Its funny how they find was to fu*k themselves

We have a nuclear power plant here is South Orange County/ San Onofrea Nulear Power Plant. It is just north of the Marine Base right on the ocean. It uses the sea water for cooling instead of cooling towers.

Solar cell technology is making great progress, it may yet be a viable energy source. I'm all for development of alternative energy, including nuclear. Why not?

The problem with california is that it is full of hippies... I cant shoot my Ar-15 or Ak without getting dirty looks. if I drive with my cats off people give me the finger. If I fart, I get odd looks. Even good old hunting is looked down on cause the food that is running around has feelings. A bunch of emos I tell you. Well not all of us....

exactly. at a uranium mining conference we were at last year a pro wind speaker got up and started her typical bs. 30 secs into her talk the lights flickered, and then went out. someone from the crowd (all of us from uranium mining/processing background) yelled, "uh oh, guess the wind stopped blowing!!" it was really, really priceless. i lol'd.
