The "moderate" muslims need to become the majority (they are currently the minority) as they make Islam a good religion with a lot of good messages.

Again, if this was the case, there would be much more Muslim-against-x related violence in the world.
There are ~1.2 Billion muslims in the world. Radical Islam is most definitely a tiny minority. Otherwise, it wouldn't be radical, it would just be Islam.

The western world calls it "radical" to marginalize the truth. When in reality, from an adherence to scripture stand point, it is not radical at all, it is as you say, Islam.
But the west has to run things through its "Political Correctness" filter first. And to us, believing that God commands you to kill innocent people because they don't believe in your version of "God" is "radical" when to Islam, it is the norm.

Violence in Islam correlates very closely with how the religion was spread in the first place. In areas where the religion was spread through trade, Islam is no more violent than Christianity. In places where people were converted by conquest, a much higher level of violence is preached.
While the religion itself no doubt says that violence to spread religion is acceptable, it's just untrue to say that a majority of muslims approve of violence to further their religion. The vast majority of muslims just want to live their lives like everybody else.
Now, if we're going to narrow our area down to specific places like Waziristan then yeah, a majority of muslims there probably believe all infidels must either die or be converted. 99%* of muslims don't live in Waziristan though. They live in places like India, Indonesia, Mali, Morrocco, Guinea, Bangladesh, Albania, Cameroon etc.
While the religion itself no doubt says that violence to spread religion is acceptable, it's just untrue to say that a majority of muslims approve of violence to further their religion. The vast majority of muslims just want to live their lives like everybody else.
