Actually I'm kind of surprised how big this issue has become. The agents and service members were off the clock, they were paying them out of their own pockets, not breaking any local law, is there really grounds for their dismissal except for poor judgement? Are we really surprised that men are involved in prostitution? Isn't it hypocritical that we're upset at them but it's legal in certain parts of this country?
Hope it goes away soon and back to other nonsense such as election or apple factory working conditions.
What they did was compromising the mission and leaving themselves open to all kinds of nastiness. I agree that what most people do on their own time is their business, but in this case they're supposed to realize that they're under scrutiny 24/7.
Also, I agree that the politicians should not be casting stones in a glass house.

These guys are responsible for protecting our president. Behavior like this can seriously compromise his security.
I want to reserve judgement but I would also remove the people involved from the president's protection detail until all the facts are examined and a final judgment can be rendered.
The president's security is just too important to risk compromising.
Is it clear and factual what happened that night? The woman that was supposidly involved gave this interview, and she said he was discrete and only days later did she find out he was an agent. Besides, it wasn't like his trip was a secret, people knew, it's only relevant if he gave out secret codes or schedule, something not public domain.
It's more than that. If you compromise yourself in this manner you give others things they can hold over your head.
If the people in the president's security detail are compromised like this, his security is compromised. You can't imagine the means and methods people can use to crack security.

I agree with this post. You can't take chances like that, especially when I know for a fact that these federal agents are supposed to go through a security briefing and be cognizant of risks in other countries.

Which pails in comparison to the normal, everyday ish I see with civilians that should be in some kind of institution.
There are only 1 million federal employees and close to 300 million lemmings out there.
