(CNN) -- Three chilling photographs on an Islamist Web site appear to show the beheaded body of American hostage Paul Johnson, who was kidnapped a week ago by Islamic militants connected with al Qaeda.
Abdel Aziz Al-Muqrin, the self-proclaimed military leader of al Qaeda in Saudi Arabia, claimed responsibility for Johnson's kidnapping and the death of another American on the same day on behalf of a group called the Al Falluja Squadron.
On Tuesday, he threatened to kill Johnson in 72 hours unless the Saudi government released al Qaeda prisoners and all Westerners left the Arabian Peninsula.
"We gave you the deadline but you did not respect it," a statement on the Web site said. "This is what we promised to do."
A Saudi security source said, "From our end, we cannot confirm this. We have not found a body yet."
Earlier Friday, Al Arabiya as well as CNN had aired an emotional appeal from Johnson's wife.
U.S. and Saudi investigators concluded an intensive meeting Friday, Saudi officials said, as security forces spread all over the kingdom searching for Johnson.
Johnson, 49, a Lockheed Martin Corp. employee, had been kidnapped Saturday in the Saudi capital of Riyadh. He helped maintain U.S.-built Apache helicopter gunships for the Saudi military.
Al Falluja Squadron says it has ties to al Qaeda.
The State Department has urged all Americans to leave Saudi Arabia, but Johnson's sister, Donna Mayeux, said in a CNN interview that her brother "always felt safe in Saudi Arabia."
"My brother is an honorable man," she said. "He has always treated people with dignity and respect."

As a mod, I'm unclear if this should be in the general off topic or in the politics/war section (already a thread there on this). I'll leave it up to my fellow mods that more understand the seperate section more as to whether it needs to be moved or not.
EDIT: BTW, you're subject is wrong. This did not happen in Iraq, but happened in Saudi Arabia. I can edit the subject if you would like me to to make the post accurate.

don't move it. i never check the politics sections but i would liek to post on this thread.
*****...if there weren't so many civilians i would say nuke them. how can they ***** do that do someone. after all the begging, pleading and what not.. he wasn't even military. it's just cold icy blooded MURDER, no matter what the hell religion or god's name they claim it under.

One of the problems over there now is the US Citizens most volnerable to kidnapping are the ones over there for humanitarian reasons, not military are civilian military workers.

How about this.....everytime a westerner is kidnapped by Al Queada we execute 10 Al Queada members being held prisoner....we behead them and bury the corpse next to a pig....If these terrorists are Muslim and really care about their fellow members like they claim to the kinappings and murders would stop....and if they didnt stop it just shows they dont really care about Islam and only about killing westerners which Islam claims to be against

These are a bunch of sick F*****S. I agree with the one for 10 thing. We should do the same thing to them and desecrate their bodies in the worst way. They kill 2 of us we kill 20 of their prisoners. F*** their religion and their so called god that tells them to kill people in the name of their religion.
The reason we don't do what you say is that we can't allow ourselves to become barbarians ourselves. What we are doing, if we stay strong, will eventually help the situation. We will have worse atrocities committed against us, I have no doubts. However, I do think we will win in the end if we stay together and don't back down.

Yeah I know I was just venting a little. We would be as bad as them if we did the same. Just pisses me off though that they do this to innocent civilians.
Ya know the funny part about that picture WashUJon, is those two groups would kill each other like no tommorrow. Their probably the Alpha and Omega of each other.

Thanks, MB. The lads are just frustrated that $h!t happens to innocents on purpose, but once the anger dies down, they won't be so adamant about the one for ten idea.

I understand the "we fall to their level" if we start beheading people but if we behead Al Queada PRISONERS (the BAD GUYS) we are still better than them because its not like we are killing innocent people....now if we really want the shock value we hunt down the members of thier family and take them out too......we tried to fight a real war against them but that wont work....Its a new kind of war and we need to play the game
This is like a BIG buff guy weighing 300 lbs (america) against a scrawny 105lb guy taking cheap shots "under the waist". and we can't hit them back cause then it would kill him.
This isnt "eye for an eye"...its 10 heads for 1...the terrorists do this **** because they KNOW we wont punish them with harsh reprisals....if we took out 10 Al Queada prisoners and beheaded them on TV I think the terrorists would learn a thing or two...you mess with the US and you get it....... its worth a shot anyways...being nice hasnt worked

we need to soak any Al Quaeda prisoners in pigs blood, shove a wad of bacon in their mouths and then behead them.
