Talking It is official I am now a "Libertarian."

That online link provided by Potus Elect Pete was awesome.

I recieved my new card already typed out for me, all I had to do was sign it. The number of Republican's just decreased by 1 yesterday.

I feel a new sense of freedom and a desire to do something special.

What should I do, is there a page that encapsulates what I stand for now somewhere on this vast Internet?

Anyways, does this stop the *R* flood of mailers and calls?

Thought I would share.

A gun toting, anti partial birth abortion, pro death penalty, pissed at governmnet corruption Libertarian.

My new thoughts on Iraq have even changed. Let's get the heck out of there and let them just do what they do. Bring our boys home or double their numbers but NOTHING in betweeen!

I am not a rare breed am I?

I admit that I am slightly disillusioned at the current state of the Republican party, but I would become an independent before a Libertarian. They're just a little too free-spirited for me. Maybe I'll just join the Constitution Party. Hmmm....

Holy crap. I thought republicans were conservative. Man, the constitution party has them out-godded by a landslide.

You still sound like a Republican to me. I have come to the conclusion that Libertarians are Republicans by another name - Rebelarians. We (I am one) are much too idealistic to admit to Republican ideology, but to subvert to Democratic thinking is repugnant.

The problem is, if all Libertarians pull away from the Republican party in an attempt to coalesce into a viable party entity, we will not be large enough to effect control, but will instead put the Democrats in control. We would simply be a large Green Party.

What we need is a leader; an attractant; someone to inspire and convert. Dare I say, President-elect Pete?

if you anyone is serious about the libertarian party and taking back our country, also, possibly willing to move, check this out:
http://www.freestateproject.org/index.jsp
The Free State Project is a plan in which 20,000 or more liberty-oriented people will move to New Hampshire, where they may work within the political system to reduce the size and scope of government. The success of the Free State Project would likely entail reductions in burdensome taxation and regulation, reforms in state and local law, an end to federal mandates, and a restoration of constitutional federalism, demonstrating the benefits of liberty to the rest of the nation and the world

Wheeee!!!!

It's about time people start pulling their head out of their asses and begin to re-evaluate their political ideologies. Both the GOP and DNC have had a political stranglehold on this country for too long, and it's time for people to stop voting for the person they dislike the least.

Unfortunately, the only option is to vote for the person they dislike the most; or Ralph Nader.

No, thats Parade Kid, a 30yr old that lives in the atlanta area and makes his own elf costumes for parades. The local morning radio show found him and he's getting semi-famous.

Are not!

Being Libertarian is much more then simply possessing a card, dude! You have to read some books and stuff. You have to, like, totally understand the positions of the Dems and the Reps, and denounce them, and then you have to go through some whole secret ritual thingy. Believe you me - I looked into it, and it is pretty dang scary!

You can't just get a card and proclaim you are a Libertarian - noooooo. You are now some type of pseudo Lib, and the card simply gets you about the same benefits as an AARP card (discounts at some lodging establishments and various amusements parks).

Nice try!

Elves are not human. You have to be human to qualify for PC187.

Ferinstance, it isn't murder to kill soemones pet of any kind no matter how much they love it.

I have thought this all out just in case an Alien lands in my backyard talking about probing etc.

I suppose with enough money you could buy the right jury and convince them you really thought it was an elf.

Man would I love to read that case. ( Not that I want anyone to die, I mean well I don't really know what I mean tonight I am off and just enjoying a Saturday night off)

I was going somewhere with this but ... of yeah Go team!

Hey so now that I am Libertarian who am I supporting again?

Who *is* our team?

Ok, Scafremon, NOW he's a Libertarian. At least, those last two posts prove he couldn't possibly be a Republican anymore. Republicans make sense, usually, but you never know what those crazy Libertarians may say.

I read the Libertarian Party's platform and just couldn't see myself joining a group with such unrealistic and impractical ideas. On a theoretical level many of their positions sound good but in the real world they simply would never work or if implemented would wind up causing more problems then they solve. It's very easy to say what you are against your government may be doing but when you ask a Libertarian about specifics if their platform is implemented you never get a real world answer. They are not really much different than the Communists in this respect, all theory and no practical real world solutions.

Well, true libertarianism is close to classical liberalism, which worked for about a century to a century and a half in the US, before the social spending started in ernest.

I'm with you, though, I don't see how we ever get back to that kind of nearly clean slate.
