GT Motorsports: Billet 4140 Chromoly Girdle & Main Caps
Not for the faint at heart! This modification is not for everyone, but for the ones who do need it - we have it! Originally designed for an endurance racing team in Europe that was going threw bearings, we came up with this solution and so far it has worked out well for them.
GTM "4140 " billet steel main caps are designed to improve block strength and increase bearing life. The soft nature of cast material allows the mains to flex and move at high rpms as the internal temperature increases. So we set out to build billet main caps and block girdle for the VQ35DE blocks
why do all the other offering for main cap girdles make them out of aluminum? easier and cheaper to machine? Billet steel is the way to go for the main girdle!!!!
also, big thumbs up for the the main caps! probably won't sell many of them, but it is nice to know they are available!
