GT Motorsports: OS Giken Drivetrain Products for VQ35DE, VQ35HR, and VQ37VHR
OS Giken is a premier Japanese manufacturer of aftermarket high performance products. We are proud to be able to offer these products to our customers and provide owners of the HR/VHR platform a true high performance clutch upgrade.
OS Giken Clutches
Through our research and development of high performance engines, we realized the need for the production of higher quality, more durable clutch systems to meet the rigorous demands of race and sport driving. Our OS multi-plate clutch is able to transmit engine revolutions and output to the drive train without loss. They are made of the highest quality materials and their durability is second to none. Our continual research and development has brought about many improvements since our multi-plate clutch line's original debut in 1983 and we are confident that our clutches can meet the demands of even the most heavily modified vehicles.
Distinctive Features of the OS Multi-Plate Clutch:
In spite of its decreased diameter, our clutch allows for extremely efficient power transfer and improved engine response. Our redesigned leverage mechanism of the diaphragm spring on the center cover results in higher pressure of the clutch disk while reducing pedal effort. In addition, ventilation holes are designed to reduce heat generated inside the clutch system and allows for the friction plate dust to exit outside the clutch system, thus increasing reliability and safety. All OS Giken clutches include a corresponding performance flywheel to ensure maximum performance and unlock your vehicle’s potential.
OS Giken Super Single Clutch Our Super Single series make an ideal choice as a replacement to the original equipment clutch/flywheel and provide your vehicle with unparalleled response and race performance. The Supersingle clutch design is a product of our cumulative knowledge and experience in developing and refining our Racing Multiplate Clutch line.
OS Giken Super Lock LSD OS Giken utilized its accumulated racing knowledge and engineering experience to develop its own limited slip differential. Four years of extensive research and development lead to a new and revolutionary LSD design with the capacity to house an unprecedented number of friction plates (up to 28 plates in total) and thus the OS Super Lock LSD was born. The increased number of plates directly has not only dramatically improved our LSD design's locking force and enables it to lock fully and completely. An added benefit to being a fully locking mechanism is that less heat is generated, thus resulting in incredible durability and reliability.
As expected from OS Giken, our LSDs are not only made from the highest quality materials, our precise machining, forged gears, and sound engineering makes our LSDs the most durable and reliable race performance LSDs available.
In addition, our design allows for the initial torque setting and lock timing to be customized to best fit you vehicle's everchanging set-up and course/road conditions. (Limited to Spec-X LSDs only)
whats the drivability like with the three and four disc clutches? How do they compare to the carbonetics triple plate clutch?
The Triple and Quad plate will be more drive able because of the additional disc, and since these are not carbon discs, they won't be as grabby - hence easier to drive.
So with my goal of 650whp the super single clutch should be fine? And in terms of drivability how does it feel compared to a jwt clutch? Thanks
How much tq would you be producing? The twin is rated at 700rwtq from OS Giken, I have not driven the super single so I could not give you a comparison on feel vs JWT at this time, although a twin or triple will be much easier to drive than the single.
Oh alright, looks like the twin is for me then. I honestly dont know how much tq Ill be making once the build is done but the whp is around 6-650whp with my greddy kit so whatever tq is followed by that power #
I'm curious how the triple or quad plate clutch would compare to a Tilton triple.
Also... Got more info on the LSD??? Is anyone running this LSD yet on a Z/G? Any reviews? How does this LSD compare to the Carbonetics? Is it a 1.5 way or 2 way?

i am interested in the os giken lsd ... could you tell me the difference to the cusco rs?!
btw ... i'm looking for an lsd that is streetable and not noisy but it should also perform very well at the circuit ... so i think about a lsd 1,5way with max. 60% ...

The OS Giken unit is going to be far superior to the Tilton in design, quality and performance.
The OS Giken clutch utilize a billet flywheel and pressure plate design that is also heat treated, OS Giken is the only company to offer a 360 degree billet flywheel hub design.
Because the OS Giken unit is heat treated, unlike other competitors it will not flex under high temp high load and provide an even pressure surface for the clutch disks, this will also avoid "hot spots" from being created.
I would recommend the triple disc, which holds over 1000rwhp on the OS Giken R32 Skyline, if you want the quad that is fine as well, just your tranny will take a toll.
Another benefit of the OS Giken clutch line is that they proprietary metalic compound does not need to be heated to grab and is very consistent, therefore you have a wide range of operating tempatures that provide the same clamping force.
There is no break in required on these clutches, although after a few hundred miles of driving they will become smoother.
This clutch design is also going to be quiter than other triple disc clutches on the market, Needless to say I might be upgrading to this unit on my personal car.

Now the OS Giken LSD is a VERY nice piece, and nothing else even comes close.
Utilizing 28 clutch disks, and a proprietary ramp-up rate which is smooth yet effective separates this LSD from anything on the market. No noise, No wheel hop on left turns, and no ridiculously short service intervals.
This LSD will feel like your stock Viscous but will put the power down, because of its ramp-up rate feature this LSD will actually help you put the power down with minimal wheel spin. To date OS Giken has never had to warranty or service any other their LSD's.
This is the most street-able LSD that will hold this most power, period.
On those OS Giken deals what is the price on the lsd and is it 1.5 way ? I saw this question was asked before but didn't read an answer (but I am on my phone) and do the flywheels on this package have the chatter and noise issue that everyone complains about when they swap their flywheels out ? You can pm me the price on the lsd and I can access it on my phone but cannot pm you first on the crackberry :-/
