Exclamation GT Motorsports: DSport G35, JWT 700BB, FCon VPro, Complete Atlast!

As we all know it has been a long journey for Derek his G35 coupe. From Vortech T-Trim, to built motor, and Finally his current JWT 700bb Twin Turbo system. I believe this was a very good move on his part and this current setup he has on this car is awesome! Spool up is great and the car is very powerful!

"Back in Business"

Specs:
2004 Infiniti G35 Coupe
JWT 700BB Twin Turbo Kit
Built Long block
HKS FCon VPro
HKS Navigator
HKS Knock Amp
HKS SSQV Blow off Valve
HKS EVC6 Boost Controller
GTM 14" Fan and Shroud Kit (Controlled via VPro)
GTM Spec ECU Flash
GTM Cold Air Intake for JWT TT
Defi Gauges
3" Custom TD Exhaust w/ Apex'i canisters

Conservative tune @ 12PSI, 91 Octane

Conservative tune @ 14PSI, 91 Octane

Conservative tune @ 16PSI, 91 Octane

Conservative tune @ 18PSI, 100 Octane

During the higher boost sessions the kit does have a little trouble holding boost which explains the smoother graph during the low boost sessions. This is due to having an internally wastegated setup at high boost levels. The car did very well, and feels exceptional. Thank you Derek for giving us the opportunity to work on your car, we hope you enjoy it!

Below are some pictures and video, enjoy!

Thank god it's finally tuned!! Thank you to Sam, George and the GTM techs. You guys have been working on my car off and on for over a year now, dealing with my Vortech setup that never ran right, and after having the JWT 700BB kit on my car untuned for the past 3 months, I can finally watch my boost gauge go over 0psi and feel the wrath of a street driven G35 with 618lbs. of torque. This car is a beast and I can't wait to get to the strip and see what 1/4 times I can knock off.

Over the past week while my car was at GT Motorsports, they installed my HKS SSQV Blow-off Valve, HKS Knock Amp, HKS EVC, HKS Navigator, setup my gauges, installed and wired the GTM Fan & Shroud Kit, installed GTM Cold Air Intake, GTM ECU Reflash, 91 and 100 octane tunes and installed a new throttle body(idle issues). Every single product that I had installed, wired, or tuned were setup perfectly.

Sam's tuning skills are second to none. My car runs as smooth as it did the day I drove off the Infiniti dealership lot brand new over 4 years ago. I have to give a special thanks to Sam for staying up til 5, 6, 7am to tune my car. I dont know how you do it, but please dont stop cause maybe the lack of sleep makes you tune better, who knows. JK. Seriously though, Over the past 7 years I've had 2 cars, a fully built 500hp 1.9L turbo civic hatch and my current G35 coupe, and been to numerous So. Cal tuners(wont name names, but major tuners). Comparing work done by previous tuners and GTM, I can honestly say that GTM is in a league of it's own. Due to the honesty, quality and time spent dealing with me and my calls, Sam and GT Motorsports will be the only tuner that I will take my car to in the future.

I could keep typing all night long about how GTM has created my dream car and how thankful I am....I'm just so dam* excited to have my car back and tuned, I've been waiting for this day for over 3 years!

For now i'm in the process of trying to sell my 19" PIAA's for some 18" RGII's, TE37's or NT03's w/BFG DR's cause traction 1st-3rd is almost impossible to obtain.

Beautiful car Derek and great job Sam and crew (as usual!). Two quick ? for GTM folks:

1. At what power levels do you feel the GTM CAI for this kit makes demonstrable gains?

2. In regards to the statement on high boost stability, shouldn't the HKS EVC be "the culprit", as it is managing the boost in this situation? The internal wastegate should see atmospheric pressure until the boost controller decides to "show it" the preset boost pressure - correct?

And for Derek, is that an HKS exhaust?

EDIT: Even with an electronic controller, actuator springs can cause the wastegate to open before desired because of exhaust gas backpressure that is pushing against the wastegate valve itself. This backpressure can overcome the spring pressure without the aid of the actuator at all. Is this what is happening here and is it because of a restrictive exhaust? Cats in place? Exhaust type? Thanks!

I'd like to know the answers to those ?'s as well.

My exhaust is a custom dual 3" done by Evolution Racewerks. I used 2 Universal Apexi 3" in/out Turbo Mufflers, 3" piping with no cats or resonators, just test pipes.

Tell me about it. I actually sold my PIAA's today, now I can get some 18's and put some 295 or 305 BFG drag radials for the back. Any recommendations on a good 18" wheel and tire setup for the street/strip. I've been looking into some pilot sports.

Question for Sam. In all your dyno graphs the power starts to show at like 3000 RPMs.

Is that when you guys start going WOT? You don't go WOT before that?

Thanks just wondering.
