Default PowerLab: Stage 5 Turbo Kit/ProEFI ECU/Intense 797WHP **Video**

Well it looks like PowerLab decided to skip stage 2,3 and 4 and went straight to 5 . They fabricated a kit that will be able to be used with the existing stage 1/1.5 components and will allow the use of a big T4 Single Turbo kit. They supplied us with a new Up-Pipe, a 3.5'' downpipe, some new water lines and a 76mm T4 Turbo (Good for 1000WHP).

After the install was complete, we had Jason from ProEFI come down and tune our Wide G35. Jason was accompanied by one of his newest dealers showing them the basics as well as the advanced new cool features which will only be available with the ProEFI unit. After they started getting familiar with the software, Jason jumped in the driver seat and left the tuning in the hands of his dealer (who's first time tuning on this software was on this vehicle). After a few warm-up spring pressure runs, and increasing the familiarity of the software with his new dealer (making sub 600whp dynos with flawless graphs) we decided to increase the boost from a base of 11 psi all the way to 22 psi.

With 2 people stuffed in the trunk (thanks pete/IntenseAero for the traction control) we proceeded to make our initial pull.. We yielded 784WHP/630TQ.. With a little more fine tuning we continued to make our final pull resulting in 797WHP/630TQ! This is just the beginning for this turbo, we're finding some gremlins that we're ironing out and after we're done we'll continue on to 30+ PSI and see what we can do on the stock sleeves / and larger turbo..

Here's a link to the video!

To be honest, it wont be much more then the stage 1, there isn't a huge price jump in anything since PowerLab is using all of the same piping minus 2 pipes, some water lines and a larger turbo to make this kit complete. I'd say it would be maybe $2000-$2500 more then the stage 1 kit.

You can't have it all alberto, for a drag car, single turbo kits have been laying down crazy numbers and crazy times for years. You have to sacrifce something somewhere.

And remember, this is only the beginning for this big single turbo kit, there's alot more to come very soon

Yes, dont expect this to have the spool up of standard greddy twins, this single turbo kit is NOT for the light at heart. This is a kit that's for the masses that want to tear up the local drag strip and highways It's a bolt-on Kit that will most definitely support 900-1000WHP, however I can't claim anything since we haven't tested it for you guys prior. I fully expect it to make in the realm of that power however. Just remember it's a bolt on kit, that requires significantly less amount of labor as a twin kit.

I can't imagine the pull on a dyno sheet. From the video...it sounds like it makes 300+hp extra just from 4500-6000rpms.

The power band HAS to be quite a bit better than a Supra's we have variable cam, and .5 liters more displacement, not to mention better cylinder heads. Most of the high hp supra guys are beyond this turbo in size, and obviously they have more lag even yet. Intensefab is right....hwy killer, drag setup. It will still make more power everywhere over a stock Z! You just have to wait for the rush, and let the tire smoke begin! Besides... a little nitrous, and your back in business!

I'll have some graphs up tomorrow, but yes, it's laggy there's no surprise to that, this is a kit for drag racers and people that want to have 1000hp Z's/G's If they don't like the Lag they can always have a GT35R 600-800hp Z/G 8-)
