GT Motorsports: VQ35DE to VQ35HR Transformation - "Project Autobahn"
We received a phone call one day from a client in Germany who wished to build a 1000hp car that would tear up the autobahn and still be somewhat street-able, and he wanted that car to be a 350Z.
We are glad he choose us to reach his goals this is a very fun and interesting project, trying to build a well balanced street-able 1000whp car won't be easy but we love challenges.
We started the project by locating a clean 350Z to modify for the customer, which once completed will be transported to his home town in Germany.
This car will be fitted with a non-sleeved 4.2L stroked HR block with a Stage 5 GTM Twin Turbo system, engine management will be controlled by the FCon Vpro. This car is truly a complete build, from brakes to the aero kit we are doing it all on this car, we are sure the client will be very satisfied with the end result.
I will be updating the thread as the car progresses and keep everyone updated, if you have any questions please feel free to ask!
We will be offering this service to future customers who wish to upgrade their engines to the HR blocks, please PM or call me at the shop with any questions.

Hi Sam, Thanks for posting the pictures, I now know what my moter looks like. Starting in Jan/ 09 we are getting the project started on the 4.2 with the wolf 850's.
I have to tell you guys what a great man Sam is. It took some time to get the block from him but it was worth the wait. He kept me posted on the progress of my engine and is helping me with any problem that i have. ( Same day return phone calls) How that for service!!! Now I live in Toronto Canada and i was not sure at first about buying a moter from the west coast of the USA. Best move i ever made. I feel that im his best customer as I also bought a ton of other parts. ( just waiting for my HKS dual A/F knock amp to arrive. ) It should be on the road by late summer. The Little Black Z is going to be lot quicker soon. The last thing that Sam is doing for me this winter is modifiying my 5 AT. Sam says that it should hold close to 700 rwhp. But for the drag strip we have Jerrmy Tibbs built turbo 400 tranny. Not sure what it will make for RWHP but where going for at least 850 to 900. Sam says that i need larger turbos if im going for 1000 rwhp. I' ve already started saying my money for his turbos,
Once more thanks " Sam" for the great service and help.

So, you're actually installing the motor? I thought Sam was doing the whole car? ...and isn't the car white? (see picture above)
What all is involved in the swap? Are you going to swap the RevUp OEM ECU and wiring harness for HR equivalents?
I think I'd leave the OEM RevUp ECU in the car and just run new wiring from the HR up to a Haltech... Then the rest of the car should still work... anyway... Interested in hearing more...

Agreed, im sure there is quite a few obstacles to pass in order for this to work. I'm sure this was madd $$$$$... looks very interesting as to where this is going.
The car that Sam is doing is in his shop. My project is being built in Canada. they are two separte builds. Mine is a non rev block. Most of the work is being done in my own garage.
Has any body in the Toronto area pulled an engine . I would like to hear from you,
Thanks.
