We just wrapped up John's Greddy TT HR 20G Tuner kit for the 350Z. The Greddy tuner kits include the 20G turbos, larger one piece downpipes, and larger intercooler.
We added the HKS Fcon Vpro-Knock Amp, DW 600cc Injectors, walbro pump, and HKS EVC, among a few other things.
What is most remarkable about the 5AT VQ35HR, is that it produces nearly the same power output to the wheels, as it's 6MT counterpart. Baseline dyno pulls delivered 246whp with just a cold air intake. This is nearly the baseline power we get out of the VQ37 in the G37!
After tuning, we saw 474whp at just 10psi boost pressure. I went for a quick drive, but it's been pouring rain for the past week here..no traction!
The only modification we made to the trans, was our in house valve body upgrade, using the popular TransGo kit. The engine will take much more power, but I felt this was a good place to stop, with respect to the transmission.
Thanks for the oppotunity to put this beauty together you, John.
These are our FP Spec Greddy oil line upgrade kits. I was never fond of the included oil lines, which are prone to leaking and cracking. We've been using these on pretty much all the Greddy kits that come out of our shop.
So you can do a VB on the new 7 speeds? Nice! How's that 1-2 shift in full auto mode with no traction? No VB will keep up with that.
I am waiting for a dry road before testing it out. The VQ35HR still has a 5AT, rather than a 7AT. The other good thing about the HR, from a transmission standpoint, is the slight trade-off in trq, for a little extra HP. This puts less stress on the trans.
am i the only one that wants to put my 03 in the dumpster every time i see a fresh install on a 07-08?
+1
Threads like these make me reconsider my desire to wash my hands of aftermarket FI.

It's taken me way too long to get my 04 right where I want it. No way would I "upgrade" lol. I'll be the first to admit that the slope of the power curve from 6k to 7k is sweeeeet though compared to our DE single TB design!
John, congrats on the car. I would highly recommend a tranny cooler and a temp gauge for the ATF. Happy boosting!

I agree completely. Starting from a fresh motor resets the whole modification schedule. Stock cars...no matter how nice they are...are boring. Many of you guys have amazingly modifed machines, that have been personalized to you.
That is kick a$$ power for the street, built or stock block. With the consistency of a slightly beefed up auto tranny, it should take names all day long. Nice work, enjoy the car...
