Another stock block car hitting the streets, this time with a Vortech S/C and a few other goodies. This car is another perfect example of stock block reliability. Although not has much torque as the HKS S/C this Vortech peak numbers are definitely a little higher. Enjoy!
Vortech S/C w/ GTM 2.87 pulley
HKS FCon VPro
HKS Camp2
Innovate LC-1 (wide band feedback to VPro)
GTM ECU Flash
GTM Basic fuel system
-Walboro 255
-DW 800cc injectors
At what boost level is this car making that power at ? With the 2.87 pulley and a rev up motor and coming from GTM , I thought it would be making much more . Like other Vortechs from your shop 430 to 475 whp is the norm .

Thanks booger, I will let Sam chime in as I don't have the details of the build with me at the moment.

I believe the rev up vortech setup isn't as efficient as the nonrev therefore when they add a 2.87 pulley it is equivalent to a 3.12 pulley on a non rev up motor.
this is why i dont understand why people are so quick to say 400 hp is easy. that guys has a $$$$ EMS, $$$$ fuel system on a smaller pulley than other rev up guys with 3.12's saying they are pulling 50 more HP.
plus thats being run out to 7000 rpms.

Of course we still havent been told how much boost was given to this car . Some Vortech cars have gotten huge numbers from this shop in the past with no psi level [asked for but never given] . Remember Sentry's car did 450whp and 475whp at this shop on 11psi . Its like there are two diff. dyno's at that shop....dunno !

Sorry for the delay response.
This car is making around 9-10 PSI of boost. The rev-up motors don't make as much boost as the non-rev ups, so it would take a smaller pulley to match what the 2.87 pulley does on a non-rev up motor.
Also, all cars are different, some respond better to boost and timing than others - our main priority is always safety, this is where Sam felt comfortable with this car and most importantly were it was safe.

The reason I push by asking the psi level from SCed cars from GTM , is that when you post a turbo shop build . PSI level is given with ever dyno . But when you post SCed car dyno's its never include . And SCed dyno numbers from GTM , in the past and present have had huge whp swings from basicly the same boost level . So that is why GTM's SCed builds are questioned . And Im not the only one that has asked about and questioned them . And we either didnt get an answer or was given the run around .

Every car is different, and every engine is different. Some preform better than others, and they all have different supporting mods.
Theoretically, they should all produce the same results, if the builds are identical. In the real world that is not the case, especially since most S/C builds we do are on stock blocks, we have had some stock engines the respond very well to boost and timing, while others have to be tuned very conservatively because the knock threshold is just so low.
I wish I could explain why this happens but I can't, sorry
Usually we give boost levels with turbo cars to show what they do with different boost settings. I will try to make sure all our S/C cars also have the boost number posted up.
