Default Function:Tuned - 3.8L N/A Build Auto Tranny!!

Ken brought his car to us wanting more go power… but he did not want to add any boost to the equation. So to the drawing boards we went. We decided that the following build list would fit Kens needs just right!!

• 12.5 CR CP Pistons
• Darton Sleeves
• Scat Rods
• JWT C2 Cams
• Arp L-19 Head Studs
• ACL Race Bearings Rods/Mains
• Cometic Head Gasket
• Stock Heads
• DC Headers
• HKS Exhaust
• High Flow Cats
• Kinetix intake Plenum

As of right now you can tell there are no numbers… we are waiting to do a full tune once ken comes back for his meth kit install!!!

Maybe its just me, but I dont understand why you spend the money and time to do something like this and stick with stock heads and a small c2 cams. Everyone is different I guess.

I am glad to see that someone has some balls to know you can go above 11.5CR, tho.

Try more like 215-220, its a dynodynamics.

I made 246 on their dyno and 273 on a local dynojet. 280 is about ~310 on a dynojet.

+1 - the DD at F:T crushes dreams and makes nutsacks shrivel up. Upside is that if you have a monster you can tell people you only make 500ish whp

Sleeves? No head work? Wow.... what a waste fo sho! Someone should have told him there is no power NA without a sweet set of heads. Cams are a little dissapointing as well. Cometic gaskets are inferior to the HR head gaskets and cost more than twice as much. The HR head gaskets are $60 and provide better cooling.

All true, except HR gasket doesnt come in 100mm bore. Its a 3.8 from the bore, not the stroke

it prolly would have been cheaper for the owner to trade in his car for an 07 or 08 and get a bunch of bolton's

Notice how its a 3.8? In order to do the 100mm pistons that make the motor a 3.8, with using the stock crank, you have to sleeve the motor. Its a poor mans stroker kit.
