Thumbs up

Since the new FMIC is 300HP over the last and I made 22psi with a boost leak (found hole in a pipe) I went stealth... minus the airplane sound. lol

I hit a cynder block about 2 years ago, thats the dent in the up pipe.

Secondary Blow off valve installed to aid in decell pressure relief. Estimated 3.5 psi diff from entry and exit on the FMIC. per vortech.

blower (outer housing only) and SC bracket was Powder coated too... being installed as you read this. Fregging bearing issues or the car would be done today!

missing from picks also is the PC Richie Strut bar!

its always something.

Looks nice and clean. Did you have to modify the crash bar to fit the intercooler?

What are you doing for bearings upgrade? You going with 928 on that?

Intercooler fit like a glove, no modifying it stops just before before the angle in the bar starts.

I upgraded the gearside bearings but Vortech did a New, Against the grain step up on mine and the outter bearings are 40 mm vs 37 mm (TTrim impeller upgrade) so I had to make my own way! 928 does not make a 40mm highspeed bearing. Although I found a place that might.

Thanks to my Google skillz I found an alternative!

bearings are the only things left! Car should of been on the dyno tonight, now it looks like Monday!

Once I recover ill buy a new blower to test out some other bearing set ups.

Ceramic is way less expensive.

im hoping the secondary BOV will relieve the pressures associated with pushing oil/air on the bearings on decel to make those outter 40mm live a little longer. Too bad the meth doesnt help the blower temps! :-(

there was a thread on here a long while back about a company that makes any size combination ceramic bearings. They were rated to 80k rpms as well. They didn't seem too terribly expensive.

So search for that company and those bearings should last for a really long time.

i wouldn't do that. carbon breaks. get an aluminum one from DSS if you are trying to drop weight but in truth with that power you will just run into more traction issues as the weight comes off the driveline.

^ and ^^

binder I am running 345s in a a few months..traction complete

the cf reduces a lot of vibrations and its rated at 1500RWTQ. I think my lil blower is fine. cost was only a grand and I get to keep my old one incase shizzil goes bad. 50% weight reduction down to 15lbs.

car is now street tuned safely at 505RWHP with no meth

we tried like 6 diff belts trying to get the best one but ran out of time. it made 540 on the meth but was down 5-6 psi due to belt slippage and no spare belt to continue.

also, anything over 7500 rpms the car atcually pulls on the vortech bracket, bending it causing the belts to lift/off center and shread to bits. VERY FRUSTRAITING!

we even started out with the 2.87 thinking it would have more grip... the 2.62 actually works better at higher rpms...again 2 or 3 belts that we didnt have instock! So the GatorBacks are crap and the Gates (green) seem to be the best belt.

so the limit is about 7250 which we had with the 557rwhp tune previously. Im sticking with 7K to ensure im not getting any flex on the bracket at all for the drift track and bouncing off the rev limiter all day.

the longtubes and larger IC should have dropped the psi just a tad but when we hit 540 with the meth it was only at 17psi. For comparison sake the car made 19.5psi on the 505 street tune with no meth!

So basically if I get the GATES belt, which I just ordered 3 or 4, it such be a tad under 600rwhp, at least 40rwhp more with 5psi obtained.

The Carbon fiber driveshaft lands on wednesday and a car with the GTM TT made about 40RWHP at 6psi. If I can get her ontrack with the belt and hit 20psi, I should easily see 60-80rwhp on both tunes safely.

so I guessing another week. Right now I am waiting on inner fender wells or the car would be home. They had 3 or 4 fully built projects start Jan 1 so my car delayed EVERYONE a week, then had to take a back seat.

ill update again soon. Sorry I spend most of my time on G35 driver, screen name is G ZILLA over there.

So how exactly is it that the car pulls on the bracket?

the bracket is physically moving forward from the engine.. you can see it move!

22psi with it cranked down like a banjo....there goes the belt.

bearing issues..

Vortech did some sort of one off crap with my T Trim upgrade. the lower half bearings are standard SC type so the 928 upgrades worked fine.

the upper bearings (closer to the impeller) were 37mm but the housing is 40mm.

So vortech wont sell you those so I had to dig it up on my own.

that company screwed up so I didnt get them until one week after Christmas vs one week BEFORE!

so I dont have the Vortech HEAVY DUTY Bearings, but I do have better than standard SC. with that said, I just replaced them with what was in the blower. I purchased two sets so I have another set if they start to act up anytime soon, maybe at that time Ill look into getting a 40mil highspeed for the outter side too.

Something about the 6K difference in cost is making me fight 40 and 50 dollar belts!

LMAO!

Just hit 10K on Engine work!

Ohh well I was under 10K for 5.5 years!
