Just saw this on the news this morning. More pics and video here:
http://www.khou.com/topstories/stori...gax.be3c3.html

20 yr old kid with his GF in a brand new Z (no plates on it yet) racing a BMW, lost control and smacked 2 trees. Driver in critical condition, but both survived.

Yet another testament that STREET RACING IS STUPID. Never seen a Z cut in half before...

The story:
A man is in critical condition after a ride in his new car turned into a street race and then a serious accident in River Oaks.

KHOU-TV

The brand new car was torn in half.
It happened at Kirby and Stanmore around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The tree the car hit is still standing, but the Nissan 350Z was split in half.

Witnesses said a grey BMW was racing the Nissan northbound on Kirby, and the Nissan lost control, hitting two trees.

The BMW kept going.

Inside the white Nissan were a man and a woman, both 20 years old.

The man is in critical condition, suffering from several head injuries. The woman was also taken to the hospital but is said to be all right.

More street racing that keeps leading to higher insurance rates for the Z... thanks buddy for totaling the Z before you even got plates on it. Like I don't pay high enough premiums already!!!

yeah but, look how safe the z is. that thing is destroyed and most other cars would be in a bizzilon pieces, i think Nissan did a fantastic job making this car safe in the event of a crash

I guess I'm glad they're somewhat ok but what freaking idiots, I have no sympathy for all these kids that keep wrecking their cars. Maybe the minimum driving age should be raised to 21.
