Default High milege

Thinking of buying an 03 350z with 169k miles. My buddy has an 06 tranny with 80k miles. Should i get the car and swap the tranny out?

Some of the 2003 350z's had transmission problems (my 2003 required a transmission swap). If the 2003 model you are considering shifts smoothly up and down from all gears, you don't need to worry. If you encounter some "grinding," the car needs a transmission swap. The 2006 transmission is the upgraded model, and it is better in every way than the 2003 transmission.

Default Thanks man

It does shift smooth, but for how long is the real question. Dont wanna buy the car, run for 3 months and have the transmission go bad, and regret not taking the one from my buddy.

hard to say... really depends on if the previous owner did preventative maintenance on it

My tranny has been grinding in my 03 since I bought it 5 years ago. I just slam it into gear and then I put a turbo on it a few years ago...still slam it into gear, but 2-3 grinds. If you RPM match it doesn't though.
