Default Trading in my Z and dealer a ahole

Well, My lease is up and my contract states that I have to turn my Z into them in the condition I bought it in and etc. Well I have 19" MRR rims on it and if I turn it in with those on it they said they will charge me 3K to replace the OEM rims. I told the guy I have 03 stock rims and he said it would not work seeing my car is a 06. So either I find 06+ stocks or I get charged. Is this something the dealers are doing now to get money?

Does anyone know anyone that want's to trade for my 19" MRRs for their stockers or know anywhere that has stockers for cheap?

One of the many pitfalls of leasing a car. What happened to the stock wheels?

It's not a trick. It's one of the (few) things that should be universally understood when leasing a car.

Def get a proper set of stockers.

Couldn't you get your insurance to buy you new stockers? Were they on the car at the time they were stolen?

Could of but at that time I wasn't going to pay my $1000 deductible for rims I had no plans for

Yes I have leased many cars but never ran into anything like this before. I've always had no problem trading my lease back with non-stock rims on it.

I'm trying to find someone willing to sell me their stocks or trade me for my MRRs

It's a liability issue. Dealers can not sell without oem wheels. If someone is injured due to the supermarket equipment, they can be sued.

Take it to a different dealer. Nissan will bring an inspection man in to check the car. Put the 03 rims on it, chances are they will never be noticed. The car will be put on the auction site with pics and info, then sold to the highest bidder. The dealer is probably telling you this because he wants the car. You CAN take the car to ANY Nissan dealer.

If you want any additional info on how a lease turnin works, pm me.

I can't return it to any nissan dealer. In the contract it states (Must return to Power Nissan Torrance)

I went to Carson Nissan to try and they won't let me return it due to that

Exactly! No one can make a blanket statement regarding your lease.

Just find some OEM's and call it a day.

You will most likely need to sell our current wheels later if no one wants them for a trade.

Lesson 1 - never mod a leased car unless you plan to buy it out.

Yeah that's what I'm trying to do also bro. I've had plenty of offers to buy them outright I just don't have anything extra to put on the car until I sell them.

I'm not sure what your buyout is but have you considered buying it out and then selling it. I did this with my '02 IS 300 and made about 2800 bucks.

Really don't want to go through the hassle of trying to sell it in this economy
