Now that the New York Knicks' miserable season is finally over, so is Isiah Thomas' tenure as their coach. Now the overhaul can begin.
New Knicks president Donnie Walsh began his remodeling of the franchise Friday by announcing that Thomas has been removed as coach but would remain with the organization.
"He will have no official title, but he will provide meaningful input," Walsh said during a conference call. "Isiah remaining a part of the franchise is important for the organization."
Walsh replaced Thomas as team president April 2 but wanted to wait until the season was over before making a decision on the coach. The Knicks finished their 23-59 season Wednesday, matching the franchise record for losses.
Honestly I liked what he was doing when he first started out. I liked his draft picks, I liked some of the moves he made. He was making the team younger, which they really needed and not signing any wicked fat contracts. Then, he did a complete 180 and started sucking, and its been all down hill from there.
He better not have any role lol. I don't know as much about basketball as he does, and I could probably run a team better than he did. 2x-4x? Are you shitting me? 10 years ago this team was a Championship contender, now they are the crap at the bottom of the league.
But hey, at least they weren't as bad as Miami.
PS - I've been saying they will have a winning record for three years now. HAHAHAHAHAHA. Every year it just gets worse, or doesn't change.
They were I believe 23-59 this year. Tied for worst in franchise history. I have been saying since last season to ditch him. He was a great player, but a horrible coach. And now that hurts his name. It sucks to see that the Knicks havent been a damn thing for about 8yrs or so now. The 90s were GREAT when we had the old team like LJ, Starks, Ward, Childs, Sprewell, Ewing etc. I REALLY like the potential of David Lee though. Hopefully this new guy will be able to rebuild the team and make us something soon. Its begging to embarrass me to see what Thomas has brought us to.
btw. You just posted "The Dunk" by Starks I believe it was game 4 or 6 in the playoffs. My friend has that on his wall. I will remember that until I die.
