Default NBA: Flopping is ruining the game

This is all Vlade's fault.

It was humorous back then when Vlade did it every year since Shaq was still playing major minutes and scoring 30+ even with him flopping everytime he caught the ball.

Nowadays it seems like every F-ing player goes flying from incidental contact.

I'm watching the Rockets game and a possible game-tying shot got negated because Kirilenko flailed his arms in the air while running by Scola. I remember the other night with Dirk flying 20 feet falling head over heels from some incidental contact. RIDICULOUS.

And let's not forget Tim Duncan. He's literally learned how to shoot and make it look like he gets hit every play.

We're talking about guys that are able to muscle their way into the paint on offense. And yet they sway in the wind everytime the opposing team is next to them.

Iverson goes flying to the ground literally every play but he's 155 pounds. At least he's got an excuse.

Big +1.

The Father Of All Flops, Floppe Divac.

I've noticed the refs are letting more hand contacts on swipes/swats go uncalled, maybe as a signal to the players that they won't be calling ticky-tack fouls anymore...but...then they'll call a totally obvious flop.

THANKS, Floppe Divac. Thanks a LOT for ruining the game.

Do you remember when Vlade called Fisher a flopper.

If Vlade calls you a flopper, that can't be good.

I honestly don't understand why the NBA doesn't address this.

I'd rather have a missed foul call than an unwarranted one.

What is the worst thing a missed foul call will do in the middle of the game? A couple of points? A possession?

If you call an unwarranted flop foul, you can remove a team's leading scorer for half the game or more. Not to mention you take him out of rhythm, you make him ineffective and you make him play cautious throughout the entire game!!!

Even the best defenders in the league couldn't do that to any one player in a span of a few minutes.

It's part of the game now. Every time I watch a game I say, at least once, "He sure sold that one!"

Yea yea... blame it on the Lakers. Just FYI, Fisher doesn't flop. He's a little bulldog in the lane.

Ah, Mazinger Z. DFish is MAH BOY. I missed him when he was gone. I cried when he came back.

Now, I've read enough of your posts to know that you're as much of a Lakers fan as I am, and I'm sure we can both say that the Lakers are stronger/better with him in the line-up. He should be a Laker for life, retire in the purple 'n' gold.

But...dude...let's be real, bro. I can call it like I see it. And DFish...well...he ain't exactly Floppe Divac...but that boy can sell a "charge" as well as any of them, yah?

He's a bulldog on defense, no doubt. If I can find a #2 jersey, I'd buy it on the spot.

i think the whole way they officiate defense has gone to sh1t.

Awww, the good ole days when you really had to foul someone to get a call. none of this ticky tack "oh, he touched me, that should be a foul" bullsh1t.

remember how fun it was watching the pistons and bulls go at it, or the heat and knicks. now those were REAL fouls! now a days, both teams players would all be T'd out of games.

That fking ref had it out for us all game. His icing on the cake was that fking flop call at the end of the game. That douche should be fired for such a blatant miscall which cost the Rocket's a chance at winning the game which ultimately is going to cost us the series.

HELL YES IT IS. And the Nuggets have one of them too, Iverson. Flopping king. Sport is pretty much worthless to me. I mean I will catch a few minutes here and there but its NHL season in my heart.
