Discussion we had at work today...if you were to predict which record would fall first, would you vote for the 96 Bulls record of 72-10, or the LA Lakers' 33-game win streak? The consensus was, you'd see the win streak fall first, because it's unlikely that any team would go an entire season, only losing 9 games.
I have no opinion either way, both seem pretty far out there. Thoughts?

The 33 record will fall the same season that team breaks the 72-10 record. So 33 will fall first.
thats actually a good point. hadn't thought of it that way. only argument there is even those bulls never won more than 18 games in a row. the longest 2 streaks inbetween a loss was 16 and 13. even if that loss was a Victory that would put them at 30 in a row still 3 games shy of the record.

I'd love to see it happen simultaneously!
Possible if:
They go 39-9, lose 1 to go 39-10, then win out 33 games. On their 33rd win for the streak it's also the final game of the season to go 72-10. Both records hit the books at the exact same moment.
Now that I think about it, the one to fall first would be the 72-10 record.
The only team that has come close in the last couple of years is the Rockets, and they fell well short. Not to mention the teams that COULD beat them during the streak, was injury ridden. I believe Garnett was out when they played Boston, one of the 3 was out when they played the Spurs, etc.
